  1. This would be highly unlikely, but what about Willson Contreras? He probably would not cost that much in a trade but his contract might be too much for the Brewers. An interdivision trade seems unlikely and he has a no trade clause but one would think he'd waive it to play with his brother. We would have to non-tender Vaughn and Bauers. He is a solid bat with power and would like great in the middle of our lineup. I doubt it would happen but interesting to consider.
  2. While I dont disagree that Banks and Sosa would be upgrades to the Brewers, I just dont see the Phillies all that anxious to trade them. They are not really blocking anyone in the minors and both players fill an important role for the Phillies next year. Aiden Miller will likely start in AAA at SS but he's one of their top prospects and has only played short. Doesn't scream future utility infielder to me. Seems like either Banks or Sosa would require a return in trade that is at or above their value to pry away from the Phillies, which is really not the Brewers model. I dont think either of these players moves the needle enough to pay full price or over for. Buehler is interesting but unless he signs for cheap, I dont see him coming to Milwaukee.
  3. Quero is a hit first catcher? I dont think they spent much time reviewing him.
  4. a little quicker to that first run compared to yesterday
  5. Now that's a contrast in personalities. Civale (trade me, I'm a starter), to Andrew Vaughn. When Vaughn tailed off at the end of the season, I was thinking the Brewers might not retain him. He's such a class act and team player. He is the one who could be cocky (3rd overall pick in 2019, rocketed up thru the minors in one year), but not at all. He is such a big game player. I almost expect him to come through every time with an RBI. The Brewers have to keep him for next year.
  6. The post game interview with Vaughn and Miz was pretty funny. You could not get two different personalities. Vaughn looks and acts 10 years older than he is. Miz looks and acts 10 years younger than he is
  7. Miz is just missing badly. Hope the Cubs keep swinging
  8. Well, they are getting better over time...
  9. quite the contrast between Miz and Imanaga
  10. thank god. I dont think i can take another inning of that.
  11. I had thought he had a decent year too. Well, I remember his may. 1100 ops in May. Under 500 ops the rest of the way. Ouch.
  12. I assume Burke will repeat AA to start next year with Adams and Wilkens in AAA at 1b/3b/DH. Maybe Adams gets some OF opportunities as well. Add in Boeve, who had a down year and will likely repeat AA, and the Brewers finally have some upper level corner infield help
  13. Broca's inclusion is surprising. He has been pushed hard this year with ok results. But 21 in AA... they must see something in him.
  14. I still think Seigler could be a good role player, but I've hit my limit for this year. Time to swap him and Bauers for Black and Hoskins. Let's give Durbin full time work.

  16. I think its unlikely a non-40 man roster player will be called up. That means someone will have to be released to make room. Maybe Bauers, Berroa, or Carlos Rodriguez could be let go, but I dont see anyone above who would be much better than these three. I'd guess Hoskins and Yoho as most likely
  17. @Brock Beauchamp Can you add Jayden Dubanewicz please.
  18. I would go with Vaughn. He's only played 35 games but adding a 1000 OPS bat in the middle of the order is exactly what this team needed. He's still averaging 1 RBI a game. I feel he is a huge reason why we have been on a tear this past month and half and back to first place. He may not be able to continue this but as of today, if I had to pick just one player, it would be him.
  19. Odd that the Brewers would target ss from Venezuela. What are the odds.
  20. I don't think the Brewers will need to protect any of these players. Unless we see a dramatic hot streak from someone, they just don't have the spots available. The three that are closest are Ethan Murray, Will Childers, and Brian Fitzpatrick. They could be useful major leaguers but have limited ceilings.
  21. Just looking at the stats recently,. I think Crow is still close to a lock of being added to the 40 man roster. Yeager has an outside shot as well as Eduardo Garcia and Stallings. Though I don't think the Brewers will have more than 2 or 3 open spots on the 40. Its been a disappointing summer for Ernesto. Its hard to imagine he will be back, unless he re-ups on a minor league contract again.
  22. So does Yelich use the Uecker bat again? Part of me says use it again tomorrow... we may never lose again. But I bet he does not use it again or maybe save it for the playoffs. It should go in the Brewers hall of fame.
