  1. How do you go from high-level high school ball to signing a pro contract? This guy must really have some crazy raw skills. Should be exciting to watch. He might have to spend a couple years in Arz if this is the case.
  2. How beautiful their voice is should not have anything to do with it, imho.
  3. Its a lot to give up, but I would do that in a heartbeat. Abreu also has a gun of an arm and has decent range.
  4. AI would be more thorough. This is from Google search assistance. Close but more comprehensive:
  5. Plus we don't need to trade Hoskins to acquire him. The title should be changed or just lock the thread
  6. Hard to tell exactly what his worth is. He was a very good starter last year and is only 26 with nearly 6 more years of control. That should be worth a lot. you could make a case that he should get Priester level return. He's older but has had better major league success.
  7. Did this come from the Brewers or just his speculation. Most people on this board could make that speculation, but if it came from the brewers that would be noteworthy.
  8. Absolute lovefest for the Brewers in the latest Just baseball fans podcast. Worth a listen to the whole thing but dont miss the Miz /Kershaw discussion, NL ROY, NL MOY, and NL team awards (hint, hint)
  9. Former Brewers minor leaguer Cam Devanney gets his first taste of the majors, replacing former Brewer Mark Canha who went on the IL. I perennially assumed Cam would be protected each offseason from the Rule 5 draft, to find he would not be and did not need to be. I've always been intrigued by Cam's kills. Cool to see him get a chance in the bigs.
  10. I'd argue these are exactly the type of players we should be willing to trade. Its primarily second tier infielders and starting pitchers, which we have plenty of. We absolutely should be trading from our depth to upgrade our roster. Obviously, I'm not saying give any of these guys away, but I would have them all available if we are getting good value back.
  11. If Seigler replaces Monasterio, who is the backup SS? I dont think Durbin has played Short. Turang obviously can, but that did not go well in spring. Not sure the Brewers would want to experiment with that and risk an arm injury. Otherwise, I would agree, this is an obvious move.
  12. Adams, O'Rae, and Reece Walling all signed when they were younger than 19 so they are not eligible. All other 2022 drafted or UDFA players are rule 5 eligible.
  13. I'm going out on a limb here, saying it was not too early to call up Miz.
  14. I think i would prefer the league allows forfeiting rather than watch position players give up runs.
  15. I'll post a few key players that I think will be in consideration for 40 man roster adds this offseason: Minor league free agents: Coleman Crow, Ernesto Martinez, Alexander Cornielle, Garrett Stallings, Justin Yeager, Eduardo Garcia, Anthony Seigler This is the the largest group of minor league free agents that I can recall that have a reasonable chance of being protected. Crow is probably a lock and Ernesto also very close. Keep your eye on the others as possible trade candidates if the Brewers are going to be Buyers at the trade deadline. All are having good seasons and have value. Rule 5: Jadher Areinamo, Hedbert Perez, Freddy Zamora, Zavier Warren, Matthew Wood, Will Childers, Brian Fitzpatrick. Jadher is likely a lock. We shall see how the second half ends up on the remaining. The Brewers will have 4-5 open spots to protect players so they can protect quite a few these players but wont be able to protect them all. Will they learn from the Shane Smith situation or will they role the dice again?

  17. Do you know what happened to Edwin? He's been injured for just over a year now. Curiously, he is not listed on any minor league roster that I can fine. Assume that is an oversight, but it is odd.
  18. When Cameron comes back does Anderson have to go down or is there a loophole that allows him to stay and Avans to go down instead.
  19. I see no chance the Brewers tender Vaughn in the offseason. They will have no interest in the $5.85M next year. Vaughn has not hit in the majors or minors this year (and the past year). We have depth at AAA at 1b (Martinez, others). The Brewers don't save any money. I see no upside for the Brewers. I'm trying to decide how well Vaughn would have to hit in AAA for him to get a callup. If this was the best trade they could make, then fine but I would have preferred a DFA. Or a lottery ticket. At least they would get a 40 man roster spot back.
  20. When was the last time the Brewers had a top 25 in all of baseball SP debut? Sheets?
  21. How could one possibly have evidence of this? Its not something you can prove as it is a hypothetical. Fact is there is no evidence either way but it seems logical that it would lower trade value. Teams now know we have an unhappy player that we are trying to get rid of. I wonder how his teammates treat him. He literally wants to leave the team. That has to sit poorly with a bunch of players.
  22. The Brewers are typically quiet about these things, so i doubt they leaked this to the press. I wonder how this benefits Civale to leak it though. The brewers are likely only getting salary relief now. So they are less likely to trade him with little value coming back. Maybe he thought they would not honor his request if he did not.
  23. @Brock BeauchampHolobetz can be removed as he was traded for Priester 😢
  24. Crow is a minor league free agent at the end of this year. Signed in July of 2019 and spent the year on 60 day IL. Have to believe the Brewers want to see what he can do at AAA to decide to place him on the 40 man at the end of the year.
