  1. 3b are sooo last year. Just sign more catchers and trade for more SP, That will make up for it.
  2. I look at the trade as Durbin last year played near his career ceiling. Harrison was near his career floor last year. I think there is much more upside in Harrison (and Drohan). But this definitely feels like a Brewer move and I would not assume they have another move already in place. These seem unconcerned about leaving a hole at 3rd going into spring training. I believe they think it will work its way out. Last year was similar with Dunn and Capra. I had no faith they would work, but Durbin came on and did very well. This year it could be Jett who does the same. I'd prefer more concrete plans but the Brewers seem to do well with this mentality.
  3. What does the last part mean? Do we have access to all brewers minor league games? Actual games and not just gameday views?
  4. FWIW, Fangraphs roster resource has Jett at SS and Ortiz at 3b. This makes the most sense right now. We will see how spring training / more moves shakes out. They also have both LH pitchers at AAA. I'm a bit surprised since Harrison has a lot of major league experience. I would have thought he'd be a lock for the #4 SP. Maybe there is some assumed pitching lab time in Arizona before he gets called up. The pitching depth on this club is now crazy. I don't know how they will get innings for all of these starters down in AAA.
  5. Don't get me wrong, the Brewers can sign all of the minor league free agents that they want. No risk there and I'm not worried about having too many players as these things work themselves out in spring training. Just seems like a they could have signed a few guys to address the biggest weakness the Brewers have in lack of power. Between Perkins, Lockridge, Berroa, Baddoo, Hurtubise, Jordyn Adams, and Dasan Brown, we clearly have addressed the 9th inning OF defensive replacement / pinch runner role.
  6. Looks like he plays CF and has 255 SB and 11 HR in over 2500 PA in his career. He has a 420 OBP (wow!) and 350 SLG (ehh) in his career. He is 28 years old. The Brewers sure have a type, don't they.
  7. I'm sure I will go on to regret this and Jordyn will go on to be an all star for the Brewers (one can hope), but how many of these guys do the Brewers really need? I know its the current Brewer approach, but wouldn't some diversity in talent be a good thing? It would be nice to see a slow lumbering power hitting RF get added once in a while.
  8. I think the Cardinals did ok with their return, but not overwhelming. Cijntje is the key to the trade, though the two comp B picks are big. The two OFs they got feel like 4th/5th OFs. I'm glad the Brewers went for quality over quantity with Freddy.
  9. I think people are being too hard on Pratt. He basically skipped over high A this year (only 23 g in A+ in '24) and was an above average bat (to league average) and played gold glove level defense at SS. He was 3-4 years younger than his competition at AA. Sure Made has passed him up. But only two prospects in baseball have not been passed up by Made. If Pratt had crushed AA last year, with his glove, he would be a top 10 prospect this year. With him being merely an above average bat, I guess that makes Pratt just a top 100 prospect. Not too shabby.
  10. Can't the Brewers just move Tyler Black to Catcher. I don't think they have tried him there yet. 😉
  11. This trade opens up a 40 man roster spot. Jett is not rule 5 eligible until after the 2026 season. Makes a veteran SP flier more likely.
  12. He is not rated top 100 on MLB.com so not sure consensus is correct.
  13. I'd imagine Jett slots in as our 3rd best prospect and Sproat 8th or 9th in a very good system. That's a lot of talent in return. Not crazy about giving up Tobias as well, but he was pretty low on our depth chart.
  14. Peralta and Tobias Myers for Jett Williams and Brandon Sproat. Not sure how i feel about this if accurate.
  15. This is exactly the type of player / minor league contract I expect the Brewers to pickup. The promotions to AAA are limiting the need to sign minor league free agents like we had to do in the past, but I think they will take a chance on a few fliers like Rodgers.
  16. Thanks Spencer for all the details! Seems like they gave out bigger bonuses this year, but that may be due to them having a bigger pool this year. Or is it an indication that they were able to get better talent? Also, who is #25 in the photo at the top? 😉
  17. Ricardos in Greendale and Capri di Nuovo on 84th and Beloit have really good pizza. Ricardos has a great sauce. Capri has a great deep dish and great breadsticks as well.
  18. The title of this thread really needs to be corrected. I thought there was a change and they went back to Fan Duel. I think that is still a possibility but the Brewers will get a lot less than last year if they do. Though they are likely to get much much less if they have MLB run the televised games. Padres went from $47M on fan duel to $17M on MLB when they switched.
  19. He's a soon to be 22 year old who first started playing CF in 2021. He was a SS in high school. He still has things to learn and can get better. I think the Brewers will continue to give him opportunities in center.
  20. Best farm system & prospect in a year from now? Worth a listen if you are a Brewer fan (hint, hint...) The future is bright.
  21. I agree. "Building a championship" criteria is too vague. Is that near term or long term? I initially took it to be 2026/2027 timeframe. If that is the case, Pena should not be listed, unless you are using him in a trade.
  22. My wish list is short. It's the last one. I dont care how we get there.
  23. Should either get added to the 40 man next season. They both have options. 2 for Rom. 1 for Garabito.
  24. LOL. If only he was from Texas. Tex Meccage would be an awesome nickname.
