  1. Has Prince made any statements about Yost getting fired? I used to think he was the "clubhouse leader", but I rarely hear anything from him. While I don't think that Prince has anything to do with Yost getting fired, it would still be interesting to get his take on it. And from Hardy's comments it sounds like more than a few players didn't get along with Yost. If it took Hardy 3 years to "warm up" to Yost, after Yost was the one who insited on playing a struggling Hardy, that paints a picture of a guy who's hard to get along with.
  2. I agree with you aboubt MVP '05. The game was great, but over the years it's reached some sort of undeserved cult status. What's really sad is that 2kSports is in the second year of a three year development cylce, which means that MLB 2K9 will likely be released with no major tweaks or imporvements. And since Take-Two's exclusive third patry baseball rights don't end for another 4 years, it sounds like we'll have to wait until 2012 until we see another decent thrid-party baseball title. I'm amazed that MLB allowed this to happen.
  3. They need to start a fantasy cooking league. I bet eggs gets drafted pretty high.
  4. 7 innings left, with a rookie on the mound who's already thrown 47 pitches through 2. It'll be a high scoring affair.
  5. A 30 pitch first inning from Niese bodes well for the Brewers chances of seeing that crappy Mets bullpen.
  6. Brew City used a group of stats to make Gagne's recent pitching performances look more acceptable, but as I stated in my post above, the information that he quoted isn't even correct. I want to be able to defend Gagne. I want to see him succeed, but the fact of the matter is that he gets one oppertunity after another to prove his worth and he continually fails. For whatever reason, he just doesn't have "it" like he used to. He needs to be reserved for mop up duties.
  7. I think most people see the logic behind statistical projection, but sometimes it's not want they want to hear. If I'm going to the beach tomorrow and the weatherman tells me there is an 80% chance of rain, I like to laugh in his face a little bit while I'm bronzing under the cloudless sky the next day. He doesn't control the weather, he's just making sure I don't get rained on.
  8. That's not right. It should say.... "Gagne has given up a run or more in 5 of his last 19 outings." or "Gagne has an ERA of 6.61 over his last 19 outings."
  9. I think it's more amazing that he struck someone out. Blind squirrel I guess.
  10. I think it's more amazing that he struck someone out. Blind squirrel I guess.
  11. Haha. I follow most of my games of gameday seeing as how I'm at work 84 hours a week.
  12. I didn't get to watch this game, so I'm just happy to get the "W", no-hitter or not.
  13. Hey, Happy 2 year anniversary "What's bugging you?" thread. All these Brewer off days bug me.
  14. I can only watch this game through Gameday, but it's nice to see Parra with a 5/0 K/BB through 5 innings. And is ERA is down under 4.00.
  15. I use Cute PDF to convert a lot of my work documents to .pdf form. I'm not sure about .pub files, but it seems to work on just about anything. If you have the abillity to print the file then you have the abillity to .pdf it.
  16. Has anybody seen Tiki Barber on MSNBC covering the Olympics? I turned him on today and it's just embarassing to watch. He should probably stick with football. This is a stupid question, but if someone sets a new WR in a speed event and they later test positive for a steroid, is that WR still recognized by any orginizations or does everyone pretend it never happened.
  17. The more long distance driving you do, the faster it goes. I drive from Montana (where I live) to New Mexico (where I work) and back on average 2-3 times a month. It's a 16 hour drive one way, but mentally it seems like a 4 hour drive. Montana is pretty big too. I've done 10 hour drives across the state before.
  18. House is pretty good.
  19. "How you uh, how you comin' on that novel you're working on?"
  20. This is convenient for me seeing that I just got a written warning from my cable company about illegally downloading torrents. This will help curb my evil, evil habit. I'm not sure how vital DVD sales are to a show versus money from on-air advertisements, but if it weren't for torrents and sites like hulu I wouldn't be watching shows like House, Lost, The Wire, Weeds, the Office and 30 Rock.....all of which I own several seasons of on DVD.
  21. Wow, that was entertainment. Great win for the Crew.
  22. I thought it was the right move, but Shouse couldn't get the out. Let's get a DP here.
  23. I don't mind Gagne for mop up duty, but pitching the 8th inning with a 1 run lead scares me.
