  1. Just checking in to say that Kapler's catch was insane.
  2. I can remember when I lived in the dorms in college and Dominoes had $5 medium pizza Thursdays. One night I ordered a medium pizza and waited in the lobby for the delivery guy. When the guy pulled up he had about 12 medium pizzas stacked on top of one another for people in my dorm. I was the last one to pay the guy and the only person to tip him ($1). I know it's only 1 stop, but that's a hell of a lot of pizzas. Nowadays if I order over the phone it's almost always carry out. This is to avoid tipping, surcharges and just to get the food faster. I hate tipping anyone. I'll do it, but most of the time I don't think a waiter earns a tip anymore than the guy getting my cart for me when I enter Wal-Mart. Or a bartender more than a dentist. JMO.
  3. I'm not sure how the market in Milwaukee will differ than in Denver, but last year I paid $475 for a $150 Upper Grandstand seat to watch the Red Sox sweep the World Series. If this thread is still up here come the end of September, please PM me if you have some tickets available.
  4. If you have an Xbox 360 and enjoy puzzle/platform games, download Braid. The story ain't half bad, and the main character Tim is one of my favorites from any game.
  5. If you're bored with the Cubs game, check out Matt LaPorta and team USA take on South Korea. They are currently losing 4-6 in the 8th inning. Not a good start so far. I'm guessing it's previously recorded.
  6. I always tell myself that I'm not interested in gymnastics, but toward the end of the team competition I'm at full attention. To bad about Sacramone not pulling her weight though. Also, can't they just lower the age of admittance to compete in gymnastics so we don't have to constantly hear about how the Chinese girls forged their documentation, etc. Get rid of the controversy.
  7. The men's 4X100 free relay (swimming) just concluded and the US had just about the greatest comeback ever against the trash talking French. That was a lot of fun to watch. Both teams just crushed the world record. I believe the quote from the French before the meet was "We will crush them [the US]", but it's the US taking home the gold now. Unbelievable.
  8. Nissan can't build a reliable vehicle.
  9. If you are not doing any serious gaming, you should do fine with the 1.9 GHz proccessor.
  10. I always had a hunch you were a thru-hiker, although I'd only read clues about it in other threads. (See the ramen thread). I overlooked the GAME thing as baseball related. Schlitz has been my nickname since highschool. I don't know why. I didn't drink a Schlitz until about 8 years after getting the nickname.
  11. Wow, nobody is talking about Fielder shoving Parra into the wall in the dugout? That was a pretty nasty scuffle. EDIT: Parra must have said something really nasty, because Prince was pissed.
  12. 1a) Sheets 1b) Sabathia 3) Parra 4) Suppan 5) I'm torn between Bush and McClung, but I'm leading more toward Bush
  13. I hope that whole experiment was just to use McClung as trade bait (for whatever value he has). Thank God it's over. If it had worked for a start or two who knows how long Yost would have clung (rimshot) on to it for.
  14. 14-13 should keep us in the race with 26 games in September.
  15. I watched it in Montana, I still have it on the DVR with the unusual fog over Wrigley Field.
  16. Someone left these Baron's pizza/garlic bread microwaveable snacks in the freezer at my company's house. I ate them. I also drank the 6 pack of Longhammer in the firdge after I drank my own 6 pack. Someone's gonna be pissed. Hopefully I'll be gone by then.
  17. The "What's bugging you" thread has 500 more posts than "The Drunk Thread", yet about 18,000 less views. People are fascinated by drunks.
  18. Or your kid lives in Denver Colorado in 2007 and puts up a 99.9% in the last month of the season and earns highest honors in the class. My point of course being that there is still season left to play and getting that wild card spot is a perfectly acceptable method to get to the final stage. As far as Yost goes, his quotes have always been ambiguous, defensive of himself and protective of his players. I personally feel he should have been fired a long imte ago, and I stopped putting any kind of stock into how he treats the media a long time ago. I don't however think you can blame him entirely for the Brewers BA with RISP. Can you honestly think that, that particular stat will change under Simba? The quotes might, but the runner will still be on third base.
  19. I'm single right now and very happy. Being single allows you to do what you want, when you want. Don't get me wrong, I enjoy being in a meaningful relationship, but there is a certain push-pull where you are constantly being forced to comprise to something that you are not 100% behind. For example last week, while working in New Mexico, I had a 5 days in between jobs. I decided to do a mini road trip to the Grand Canyon, Death Valley and do some gambling in Las Vegas. My co-worker went home to be with his wife. I'm not saying I had more fun than him, but I definitely had more freedom. Also, it's easier to be flirty when you're single. Do what makes you happy. I have friends who HAVE to be in a relationship, I have other friends who are self described pickup artists and have to go home with a new girl every few days. Myself personally, I am content being young and single and stumbling into the occasional short term relationship. One of these days down the road I'm bound to find the right person, but that's not my worry right now.
  20. We still have 4 innings to get back in this thing and we have CC on the mound.
  21. Honestly, when was the last time a Milwaukee Brewer was in trouble with the Law? Not to get to get too off topic, but 3TO was arrested in the offseason for domestice violence after beating his wife. I don't think a coach can control what happens outside the lines. All he can do is try and positively influence his players on the field and hope it translate to good off the field behavior.
  22. Sirens mixed in music or on the radio are one of my biggest pet peeves. I don't know if it's reverting back to my high school years, but I always panic and look around if I hear sirens.
  23. Only two large driving pet peeves for me: 1) Aggression. 2) Impatience. Who are these people and why are they in such a hurry? Leave the house a few minutes earlier instead of tailgating me. It might be evil (and maybe dangerous) of me, but I purposely slow down if someone is tailgating me and can't get around. With gas at $4 a gallon, why not slow down, and drive a little safer. EDIT: I suppose if you're an aggressive driver, what I just wrote sounds hypocritical. I have a job where I spend days at a time on the road and more often than not it seems to me like the impatient drivers only have one thing on their mind and that's getting to their destination as quickly as possible, usually being much less cautious and aware than those that planned their drive accordingly.
  24. While Katie Holmes was pretty bad in that movie, Jake Gyllenhaal's sister is so hard to look at. She is one of the ugliest women in Hollywood. Jake Gyllenhaal's sister should have been cast as Two Face in the new Batman movie. Sometimes she looks cute, but other times she looks like her face is falling off.
  25. Me too. I got harassed on the way out, uhh. http://images.yuku.com/image/pjpeg/771357a090e584c9626ec06735557ff646311a3.pjpg
