  1. Yeah very bizarre trade but then again I hated the Priester deal so what do I know?
  2. Agree on Made and Pena staying put in Carolina this year. Also, I think they'll keep guys like Pratt, Lara, Boeve in Biloxi the whole year. Perhaps there isn't much movement to be made after all. I thought Burke to Biloxi would likely happen but he's been struggling so bad lately that he might stay in Appleton. Adamczeski should absolutely be moved up.
  3. Really thought we'd see some promotions by now with the draft over and those guys signed. Perhaps after this week we'll see a slew of guys bumped up?
  4. You can't make August trades anymore like you could in the past.
  5. I'm a little nervous not having Chourio in the lineup for an extended period of time. Hopefully Contreras has found something after the Cubs series that he had.
  6. D+ Would have been an F it wasn't for the Miller trade at the last second.
  7. A ton of strikeouts for the Mudcats tonight. Adamczewski with a double and a walk. Rattlers are tied late. Another lousy day on the farm.
  8. I like the trade for Miller but other than that, it was a pretty miserable day. Probably one of the more frustrating trade deadline days that I can remember. And just to add insult to injury, it looks like we're losing Chourio for a bit.
  9. Could this day get any worse?
  10. He's basically a pinch runner.
  11. Last time they spent considerable prospect capital was over 7 years ago when they acquired Yelich. I guess you could say they are due for a big one but this regime holds onto to their prospects pretty tight.
  12. This is going to go over well...
  13. This is where I am too. Absolutely shocked they didn't at least try and improve the bench.
  14. What a wild ride it must be to be a Padres fan.
  15. Probably the Suarez deal for Seattle? Doesn't seem like they gave up a ton to get him.
  16. This board might go into meltdown mode if we don't do anything today.
  17. Yeah, except that he won't be back until late August/early September and he sucks.
  18. Very true and this is probably how Arnold and company views it as well. Just seems like the right time to be a little more aggressive than usual. Still 4 hours to go...
  19. I mean, the "bite of the apple" approach has gotten us exactly 0 playoff series victories since 2018. Are we good with that? I have higher expectations than that at this point. We are way past the point of just being happy making the playoffs.
  20. The Padres have always been a super aggressive organization. Wouldn't surprise me if they made a couple of big moves today.
