  1. I certainly wouldn't pin it solely on the offense. I think a big problem is the starting pitching is good, but not elite like it was last year so there's less margin for error when the offense tanks. We've also dealt with a lot more injuries to the pitching staff than we did last year.
  2. Yeah you have to at least call up Ruiz, at the very minimum. Absolutely no excuse not to.
  3. There’s only room for two more to be added on September 1 now but who are we thinking? I think Ruiz is a lock but who else? Turang? Frelick? I guess there’s two questions- who do you want to see vs. who you think they’ll actually bring up. I do think we’ll see one of the Nashville outfielders replace Davis at some point so could potentially be three players from Nashville that ends up in Milwaukee.
  4. Yes, I believe it’s either his elbow or shoulder. He was checked out by the Brewers team doctor and didn’t find anything concerning. I’m sure they’re being overly cautious with him.
  5. Gotta love it! It feels like Wiemer is slowing starting to get his groove back.
  6. I talked the other day about how Ruiz is being overshadowed a bit by Frelick but you can say the same about Mitchell. He was on fire before his promotion to AAA and he’s kept it going in Nashville. It’s all about staying healthy for this guy but he’s putting up some really nice numbers.
  7. Cruz must be a late bloomer? I don’t even see him on MLB pipeline’s top 30. His numbers and peripherals look amazing though. I need to pay more attention this man.
  8. Also noticed there’s been no Brewers postgame on 97.3 with Tim Allen. They announced the first show would be Monday after the Dodgers game. Possibly some sort of contract issue?
  9. I can’t even imagine the work that goes into these link reports so a big thank you to everyone. The minor league season winding down is a huge bummer but what a great season it’s been so far.
  10. Poop! Nope, forgot him. So maybe insert Lauer for Small.
  11. I would be shocked if we traded Burnes and Woodruff in the same offseason, but if we did we’d have a top 5 system in all of baseball. Can a rotation of Peralta-Ashby-Houser-Small-Free agent? get you into the playoffs?
  12. It's fun to think about what we could potentially get in return for Burnes. At the same time, it's a depressing thought as guys like Burnes don't come around very often. I'm sure all of the contending teams would be lining up to trade for Burnes along with a few up and coming teams like the Orioles and Rangers. I would demand two things at a minimum in a trade for Burnes - a high profile corner infield prospect like Bady or Jung and a high end pitching prospect. We still have two more years of control so the haul would have to be absolutely massive and it wouldn't surprise me to see a team go above and beyond to acquire his services.
  13. Nashville out to a blazing start. The first five hitters reach including a leadoff double from Frelick.
  14. Valerio’s poor season has been a bit of a bummer, especially with how well he started out the season. Still only 21 years old though so obviously lots of time to turn it around. Hopefully he has a nice bounce back next year. Him and Wiemer have definitely been two of my biggest disappointments this season.
  15. The Brewers and Padres are both free falling after the big trade. Baseball is not fun to watch right now.
  16. The bottom of the Mudcats lineup has been doing most of the heavy lifting lately. Areinamo has been on fire.
  17. I agree on Mitchell. Frelick gets all the hype (and rightfully so) but Mitchell is also putting up some very nice numbers in Nashville. It’s all about staying healthy for him.
  18. My guess is Frelick makes his debut a week from tonight against the Cubs.
  19. He had been scuffling just a little bit so hopefully just a break. That being said, you don’t hear about injuries in the minor leagues until someone has been out a few games so who knows.
  20. Couldn’t agree more. Not a ton of power from this group but they do just about everything else. Can’t wait to see these guys in Milwaukee.
  21. Tim Allen will be hosting Brewers postgame shows on 97.3!
  22. Its the same old story for the Padres. They spend a bunch of money in the offseason, make some high profile trades and then free fall the last couple of months of the season. Now their once top farm system is one of the worst.
  23. Looking at the forecast and radar in Jacksonville, I’m thinking the Sounds will get the night off tonight.
