    mike zagurski has his contract selected by the brewers and is added to the 25-man roster. he is out of minor league options and has been outrighted to the minor leagues before. if the brewers wish to outright him to the minor leagues, zagurski has the right to refuse the assignment and elect free agency. the roster is at 40.

    three days of rehab with class a wisconsin, starting today. reasonable to expect that he'll continue rehab at a higher level?

    santana doubled in four at-bats in his colorado springs debut yesterday.

    davies pitched in his second rehab outing on sunday at class aaa iowa. 4.1 innings, 3 hits, 0 runs, 1 walk, 4 strikeouts. his next rehab start will be friday at class a wisconsin (moved for travel considerations).

    tyler saladino is expected to start a minor league rehab assignment towards the end of this week. craig counsell expects the rehab to last 5-7 days.

    boone logan officially released. the brewers owe him the remainder of his $2.5 million contract, as well as (i believe), the buyout of his 2019 option.

    keon broxton, an optioned player on a major league contract, is upset that it took this long in 2018 to have a thread in the major league forum devoted to him. he wants you to know that there's a thread for keston hiura, a player on a minor league contract, over in the minor league forum.

    Yes it would count as service time. And you need to be on the 40 man roster before you can be called up. The 40 man roster sits at 39 right now. If Shaw has to be DL'd, I give Hiura a look, and not in the 8th spot in the order either. were hiura's contract selected, the club would also have to consider that if they optioned hiura for more than 20 days in 2018, he'd burn his first of three options.

    provided the pitching staff isn't worn out, i'd be okay with broxton being the 26th man when the club has a doubleheader in pittsburgh next month just before the all-star break. it would be a confidence booster for him.

    i wouldn't be surprised to see arcia and santana both optioned on the same day.

    the brewers are giving assurances that domingo santana won't be optioned. if the club is going to carry ryan braun, eric thames and jesus aguilar, and try to keep their bullpen from being overworked, i find that hard to believe. were travis shaw 100%, and thus, not needing hernan perez to fill in, i bet that the club would have already optioned santana.

    adrian houser recalled. jorge lopez optioned. brandon woodruff was optioned 11 june. both he and lopez must stay optioned for at least 10 days. alec asher and aaron wilkerson can be recalled at any point.
