  1. We already had a 1 run lead at that point, I would much rather have Torres pitch a 2nd inning than throw Villy out there. I had no issue with that move at all. Yost almost got lucky to because Torres scorched that ball. If the game was tied he obviously would have pinch it but given the circumstances I probably would have done the same thing, Torres doesn't give up to many homers and Villy on occasion has problems keeping the ball in the yard
  2. And if I am reading the calender right it will be CC, Sheets, and Parra correct? The Houston series looks to be: Parra Bush Suppan So the Cubs should be Sabathia Sheets Parra Bush Me Likey
  3. As I noted in the game thread, the fans at northside baseball are in complete melt down mode. They keep bring up that the Brewers were as much as 8.5 games back and now could be within 2. Now that doesn't sound familar at all does it?
  4. I think the Cards are going to be feeling some pressure tommorrow because if they lose they are facing a sweep or 3-1 Brewers margin. And Kyle Lohse is so due to start sucking again. Rickie hit the ball well OUr bullpen was excellent (I am not going to blame Torres thats for sure) We won and Braun went 0-6 without any well hit balls if I recall. JJ is still god
  5. Wow northside baseball is in full melt down mode and it is only 1-0
  6. I cannot even fathom that Mota is going to be pitching this game. I am just expecting to lose now
  7. This game is not starting out how I would like, I keep telling myself that luck evens out but man the Cardinals continue to just get luck with everything they do
  8. That darn commercial for the IT Institute with the darn alarm annoys the crap out of me
  9. Weeks reached base 7 of 15 times in the SF series. That included two games against better RHP's than anyone the Cards can throw out there. Hopefully, Rickie is turning the corner. How many times have we heard this before. No offense to you Ollie but everytime Rickie has a good 3 game stretch he gets so many hopes up, including my own, only to crush us with a 1-12 series.
  10. I know that guy in the booth agrees with this sort of thinking..."can't let X beat you". But I just don't get it...why should I care if Pujols "beats us" or some other player does? I would not want to see him or anyone else put on base as the tying or go-ahead run. Sure any player can beat you at any given time but the odds of Pujols ruining our chance to win is much higher than say Rick Ankiel. The odds of getting anyone on the roster other than Pujols out in a crucial situation IMO is far greater than trying to get Albert out in a crucial situation. If Pujols is up with a man on 2nd and/or 3rd anytime from the 7th inning on I walk him without even blinking an eye.
  11. I am terrified of this upcoming series. The Cardinals always seem to come up with the big hit when they need it, that doesn't bode well against our mediocre at best bullpen. I will feel much better if we can steal one of the first two games. I hope and pray for a split here. This is my most anticipated series in a very long time, I know there is still over two months of the season but this seems like a big series for me. Maybe if the Crew can stick it to em the Cardinals will finally start to realize that they aren't this good? One can only hope
  12. Well I guess we did make him throw quite a few pitches
  13. Can we please find a new leadoff hitter? Playoff teams dont have a guy hitting .216 with an awful OBP batting leadoff
  14. I also don't see any logical explanation for this considering how Bush has been pitching of late. Doug should just take this decision of out Ned's hands and trade one of them to Oakland for Street because this is ridiculous. Bush is going to go like 3 weeks in between starts for god sakes, how is that suppose to keep him sharp?
  15. Maybe if he sells the house he can afford to sign CC and Ben http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif
  16. I also hate the Sonic commercials and have never had their food so I don't have a whole lot of motivation to go and try them. I am perfectly content with Arby's, Culvers, and Taco Bell even though Culvers is getting expensive for "Fast Food" I am pretty sure if Good Burger existed it would be totally awesome. Yes Good Burger you can take my order.
  17. Who was the last player whom the Brewers drafted, came up through the system, and became a bonafide star RP?
  18. Yes the Brewers are going for it this year and IMO going for it would involve substituting a talented but unproven hard throwing relief pitcher for a crappy and proven RP in the form of Gagne and Mota. In fact if the Brewers got rid of Mota or Gagne it would be further proof that we are "going for it" and not just protecting the investment. Teams that are "Going For It" don't stick with Gagne's or Mota's for very long.
  19. The guy who sold the tickets on EBAY. Not cool!! Have you no shame? EDIT: Well I guess it is one of two people because there were just 2 giveaways, will find out soon enough as soon as we see the innocent poster again.
  20. They most not think very highly of Ramon Sessions if they sign Tyronn freaking Lue. That is unless they plan on trading Mo or moving him to SG
  21. I don't think Rickie's value is as low as it could be if he continues to struggle. He is still at that point where many teams believe he has potential. But if we wait until the offseason or the trade deadline next year abd he still struggles the "potential" tag might not be applicable anymore. I wouldn't be opposed to trading him right now, although the lack of a suitable replacement (unless we get a 2nd basemen back) is a little concerning. No one at AAA or AA that could step in and play reasonably well. I suppose we could stck Counsell out there, he has been pretty good in spot start duty but I can't imagine that he would be to effective playing everyday or only against righties with Dillon against lefties. Would Jose Lopez from Seattle or Freddy Sanchez be options? Jose doesn't walk at all so I would be hesitant on that and Sanchez is having a terrible year but has proven in the last couple years that he is a solid player. Heck maybe we could pry Kelly Johnson away from the Braves if they have a bad week coming out of the all star break, I can't imagine that be would be cheap though
  22. Braun and Hart didn't play especially well but they were no Dan Uggla. I feel bad for the guy. And I think Hart made a pretty decent throw to the plate, if it would have been a foot to the left, Morneau was a goner but it wasn't that bad of a throw Now what am I suppose to do today and tommorrow?
  23. Add to the list a bean bag toss game (In Brewers colors of course!!!) We have it so freaking lucky as Brewers fans it isn't even funny. How many stadiums around baseball not only have the space for tailgating but actually allow and encourage it? My tailgaiting is usually pretty simplistic - chair, grill, cooler, meat, chips, beer, bean bag toss
  24. Hardy, LuCroy (If he isn't the PTBNL), and Braddock
