  1. Why would Hardy ever agree to go to third base. At SS he is a Top 5-10 offensive player, at 3rd he be lucky to crack the top 20, that would cost him a ton of money IMO. A move to 2nd makes more financial sense for Hardy than a move to 3rd, but he would make the most just staying at SS.
  2. Count me in the 5-2 group, I wouldn't die with a 4-3 but given our success of late it would be dissappointing.
  3. Do you still like the matchups considering it would be Sabathia vs. Harden Sheets vs. Lilly Zambrano vs. Parra Dempter vs. Bush There isn't a single game in the series where I think a team has a distinct pitching advantage. I would say Dempster against Bush but Bush has been so good of late I am actually fairly confident in him
  4. Can you imagine this conversation: Brian: Bill did you know that Ryan Braun has an OPS + of 140? Bill: What is OPS + Brian: I don't know but is probably better than OPS - right? Bill: Your right partner Brian: Ben Sheets OPS + is 15 Bill: But atleast it is still positive
  5. It will be a cold day in hell before any play by play analyst uses a stat other than wins, batting average, ERA, HR, RBI's when determining the success of a given player because 95% of their audience uses the same measure. Play be Play guys aren't designed to satisfy those intellects at Brewerfan.net their designed to satisfy the Brewer fan that thinks Batting average and ERA are the best measure of success.
  6. I don't understand why we are talking about JJ moving off of SS. He is one of the most valuable SS in all of baseball when you consider offense and defense. Why would we move him for a kid who hasn't played an inning against MLB pitching? If anything Escobar should be the one moved. Everyone talks about Escobar's range and Hardy's lackthereof, but I am pretty sure Escobar would still have range if he played 2nd base. Range doesn't vanish if you change infield positions. I also doubt that Escobar's arm can match Hardy's.
  7. Brian Anderson is 100% better than Daron Sutton or Matt Vasgersian and is probably a better play by play guy then 90% of the other local market TV broadcasts. The guy does know his baseball I believe and at least to me makes very lfew mistakes that are of consequence. Maybe a little thing here or there but who cares?
  8. This was by no means a wall-scraper. It was estimated at 407 feet. Well I for one don't believe it went nearly that far because it looked like it hit in the first row to me. (pared back long quote --1992)
  9. I really like BA, I think him and Bill from an above average team. I very rarely find them irritating, they aren't huge homers and they aren't crazy like Sutton but they will show some emotion. I for one think we are lucky to have them. Between the TV crew and the radio crew we have listening and/or watching the game absolutey made.

  15. I will say I will be happy with a 5-2 homestand, the Crew is making me a little greedy but I can't bring myself to think the Brewers could go 6-1 or 7-0, winning just isn't this easy. Sooner or later an opposing pitcher will pitch a gem or a Brewers pitcher will throw a stinker (most likely Suppan or Bush).
  16. I still don't know how a blister can last this long. Sheets always talked about the stuff the Brewers training staff would give him for blisters and it would be healed relatively quickly. The way this is going I am not sure it is a guarantee that he will pitch in the Brewers series. And with Marmol's command still horrible, it makes the Brewers job a little easier.
  17. ESPN also said I believe no team since 1999 has swept a road trip of 7 or more games. This stretch is pretty darn impressive. The Cardinals had the 2nd ebst record in the NL and the Giants threw 3 pretty darn good pitchers at us and we beat em all. Now we come home to a down and out Astros team, we better not lay an egg
  18. Check to see if they have a spot reserved for Ryan Braun yet http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif
  19. Kendall had some meat pitches to hit last night But Corey are you serious? If he was sick he shouldn't have been playing and if he wasn't sick, wow was that one pathetic game and series for him.
  20. I once again repeat it wasn't so much that he stared it, it was that it cleared the fence by 3 feet!!!! What if their was a gust of wind that kept in the ballpark , Braun could have easily been thrown out at 2nd and we could have easily lost the game. Sabathia or any pitcher that shows crazy emotion is a completely different story because for them the play was already over, Braun was taking baby steps towards first while the ball was in the air. Sure you can admire it for a 2nd, but then act like you have hit a home run before. I love Ryan Braun and this really only the 2nd occasion when I think he hot dogged one and given the situation I can understand a little more, but that HR was in doubt even if Ryan thought he got it all. EDIT: I had no problems with Hall, his HRs got out by plenty and he only stared a little bit and then made the trip
  21. It was waaaaaaaaaay over the top. I am sure he wouldn't have done if the homer didn't mean so much but jeez, it wasn't like it was a 500 foot blast or something, he could have gotten thrown out at 2nd if that didnt get out
  22. Well Braun certainly deserves one in the ribs after that stare. Ryan that did only get out by a couple of feet, trying running next time. I love the win but Braun strutting like that really bugs me
  23. Hart is pulling an Uggla today. Ouch, I didn't think a player could single handly lose a baseball game but Hart is trying to prove me wrong
  24. See, I thought you were gonna say...I hope we get delayed for about an hr in the 3rd inning forcing LaRussa to drink to kill the time..leading to hilarious consequences. I think the hilarous consequence would be the Cardinals bullpen? I shouldn't really talk thought because its not like our bullpen is all that good either, but hey we have won 7 in a row. But yeah it would be comic gold to see LaRussa stumbling around in the dugout after a long rain delay. He would probably use all his hitters up and have to use a pitcher to pinch hit in a crucial situation.
  25. I thought I heard somewhere that Rickie has the on of if not the worst BA in the NL on fastballs. If someone can verify that that would be great. If that is even remotely true how is that even possible given Rickie's incredible bat speed. Is he just always looking offspeed or what?
