  1. My work IE has popup blocker, but it looks like it did get one. I can see the google ads as well. I don't think it was my doing, but I never see google ads on the site in Opera. I do however get a "popup blocked" notification when I visit the login page.
  2. RHP Khalid Ballouli You're lucky you quit, or Brian'd fire you. The Nashville rotation is pretty sweet, and if Inman jumps to Hunstville at some point that could be a good group to watch as well.
  3. Talladega Nights: The Ballad of Ricky Bobby Ditto what Robert said. What a complete piece of garbage. I'm just glad I didn't pay to rent it.
  4. Both Thatcher and Hinton were towards the bottom of mine.
  5. Definitely Pam.
  6. I love me some Inman watching.
  7. bats fourth in the dangerous Brewer lineup I find 2 funny things in that sentence alone.
  8. Little Miss Sunshine Two words. Awe. Some. One of the funniest movies I've seen in a while, including a classic dance sequence. Unlike EDR, I think I actually Greg Kinnear's characters for some reason. At any rate, I'd definitely recommend it. It's not on video yet, but to me, Running with Scissors == Squid and the Whale. I'm sure that will mean different things to different folks.
  9. Last I remember he was fairly close to being able to begin workouts.
  10. The difference between 82 and 84 wins might not be a big deal Although last year that'd be the difference between winning the division and going home.
  11. Watched Wordplay last week. I think it would be pretty fair to call it an adult Spellbound. In short, it's a documentary about crossword puzzles, and focuses largely on the annual tournament in Stamford, along with frequent interjections from Will Shortz (NYT cw editor) and various celebrities (Jon Stewart, Clinton, Mussina, etc). The tournament is a lot more family reunion and collegial than the spelling bee, but there's still a fair amount of internal pressure to do well, and a heartbreaker of an ending in the finals (well, depending on your POV). Fun watch.
  12. I dunno, I think the Cap'n Lou question is far easier than the ones before it. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif
  13. You are incredulous!! Actually, you are the incredulous one here. You find him incredible. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif
  14. You couldn't have said it any better "In the Brewers opinion" and that's my point exactly. They take a kid with absolutely no shoulder problems and half way thru a rookie season proceed to fix him. I don't think the concern was that he would immediately have shoulder problems, but rather that pitchers who drastically throw across their body like Mark did/does, are in serious danger of having problems further down the road. In the Brewers' opinion (and I would imagine most other clubs), what happens in the first 1-2 years is meaningless, they want someone whose arm is still attached to his body 5-7 years down the road. Perhaps no problems would ever have surfaced, we'll obviously never know. It's a shame that Mark's facing the situation he is now, and we certainly wish him a very speedy and successful recovery.
  15. If the Brewers are willing to put out (theoretically) 4/$40M for the Soup Can, is Zito worth the 4/$65 or whatever he's looking for, and would the Brew Crew be better off going in that direction? I think the $$/value ratio would be much worse for Zito than for Suppan.
  16. don't try to fix what ain't broke! At least until your track record of competitive play-off seasons tell you that your doing the right thing. But I think the whole point is that in the Brewers opinion, it WAS broke and would lead to serious long-term problems. Is there any evidence that changing his motion is directly what led to this, or was it prexisting anyway?
  17. I had no idea the Hilldale location couldn't serve beer yet. Yeah I remember hearing about this some time. Madison has some sort of anti-chain law regarding breweries, so since this is their third location they have to do some sort of finagling to get around it.
  18. Shoulder problems? Where have I heard that before? We just can't get enough of 'em.
  19. site:p 092.ezboard.com may be enough to do the trick. Yes, I am a moron. I wonder if it might be useful enough to justify adding/replacing the existing search functionality?
  20. The browser's in-page find feature is a nice supplement to TC's method. Great minds think alike, I was just using this to look for the Moeller thread. edit: I was playing around with Google, and you can get some results (at least better than ezboard) by using the site parameter. For example, I was able to find the Moeller thread by doing the following search: "site:forum.brewerfan.net/viewforum.php?f=3 moeller" There are a couple big caveats though. First, it's forum specific, so you have you change the site parameter each time you search a different forum. Second, it's only as recent as Google's latest index, so most of the recent threads will never be found. Of course, maybe this isn't the end of the world as it's usually the old ones that you're looking for..
  21. When I go to find stuff I usually just end up scanning through the last few pages. It's dumb, but most of the time I'm looking for a specific couple words or player name, so it's easier to do it quickly and not really read every title.
  22. Or how about staying healthy? Well that would increase his number of decisions, but not necessarily his win total.
  23. Under his current deal, Sheets is 16-16. Good point. Clearly Ben should up his run support.
  24. I think a ground ball pitcher would have a generally positive effect on the defense, regardless of its current state. They'd have to be on their toes a lot more than they would with Davis on the mound. Heck, any pitcher who throws strikes might have a positive effect.
  25. See the thread in the Majors forum.
