  1. Finley is/was listed at 6'6", so pretty close.
  2. http://www.gamerankings.com/htmlpages2/915692.asp
  3. Yeh, don't take these rankings too seriously. All they tell you is what type of free agent a guy is going to be designated as.

  5. I think you'd get the same weirdness from Cirillo as you get from Schroeder. Might as well just stick with the same weirdness, in that scenario.
  6. Worrying about getting even is about the worst thing you can do, IMO. What you need is emotional closure and you'll never get that by constantly scheming to get a "pay back".
  7. My first stipulation for a name was that it not show up on any "top baby name" lists. We were going to go with Grace until I realized that it had already made a comeback.
  8. Opps. Missed this thread completely. Clara Luzinski was born on September 28th, at 12:50 PM. 7 lbs 15 oz and 20 inches. Both are above the mean for a female newbown... I've been told. Baby and wife are healthy, so I feel completely blessed. And for the record, Ben Sheets is already her favorite Brewer (although we are still debating the "injury prone" side of things).
  9. Second BA is a bad measure because how it treats Sac flies. Aaron had a .308 BA if you treated all his SF as outs. Did he purposely hit flyballs with a runner on 3B and less than 2 outs? I suspect he just hit a lot of flyballs in general.
  10. The Brewers need a real #2 hitter. A guy who can get on base over 35% of the time. Whether by hit, walk, or HBP, I don't care. Braun, Fielder and Hart will be the ones driving in runs for several years.
  11. Are there any stats on non-errors? http://spreadsheets.google.com/pub?key=pfk_WuYpfduzefA8-s0_iYw&gid=0
  12. I agree mostly with the original poster. A few random thoughts: * LaPorta is no where near ready, for anyone wanting to see him starting in the majors on opening day. That said, Melvin still may be eying him up for 2009, so a Gross/RH batter platoon wouldn't surprise me. * Capuano is either in the rotation or traded. Melvin wouldn't waste his value in the pen. * Because of his injury history, Melvin is probably going to be hesitant to thrust him right into the starting rotation. * I hate Estrada too but barring a trade, he is by far the best option. We can only hope that a healed up Estrada can bounce back a bit, offensively and defensively (throws to 2B, power). * I'd love to see Melvin do something drastic to try and help the team defense (Braun to a corner OF spot, Hall to 3B, Hart to CF), but I don't see it happening.
  13. Jenkins is getting old and his unorthodox swing is not aging well. It's not fun to watch any player play past his usefulness but that's the way it goes.
  14. Brewers defense. I hadn't thought of that but I would agree. Give the pitching staff even an average defense and the entire season would have been different. Of course, you wouldn't have the same offense, though.
  15. Belling likes to take benign situations and feign outrage. Get the masses worked up about nothing = ratings = profit!
  16. Replace the cubs logo with a Brewers' one and I have the same thing sitting on my table.
  17. Screw that. If I'm going to dream, I'm going all the way. Where's my Milwaukee Brewers 2007 World Series Champions T-shirt!?
  18. If I'm paying $25 to ship "dead" playoff tickets, I at least want to be able to keep them. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif
  19. Who cares if his Ks lowered? His overall stats actually got worse. He doesn't get on base and has no power. You simply don't have a case.
  20. Bonds already said he's only going to play LF for the Giants.
  21. People might think that the Cubs' win means the Brewers' win didn't accomplish anything tonight. Because the Brewers were big underdogs and the Cubs big favorites, that just isn't true. If the Brewers and Cubs split their next two games, that's a huge win for the Crew.
  22. Weeks sits tonight because he is 0-8 against Hudson even though he has Homered in his last 3 games. Come on. Counsell has a .326 OBP over the last two years. How could you not want that leading off? The fact that Yost prides himself in "knowing the numbers" would be funny if it wasn't so depressing.
  23. So when you do score a run, you don't have to throw out pitchers like Wise and McClung to get a save because there's no one left in the pen. The point is, you have to pitch them anyway, then! Either you can use Coco right away and hope the Brewers score more than 1 run or you wait until maybe the Brewers score or don't use him at all. There's nothing magical about save opportunities.
  24. I'm always wrong about this stuff (projecting defensive development) but I'll say it anyway. It's hard for me to picture Hall having better defense in CF than Hart. It's hard for me to picture Braun be even an average defender at 3B. It's hard for me to picture Jenkins being around next year. Hart: CF Hall: 3B Braun: LF Whether that's a good move, Melvin needs to recognize that the team defense has to improve somehow.
  25. Thanks everyone. As for names, I mentioned this here before but if it had been a boy, we would have named him Trent. He could have been the second Trent to have made the the majors! Sadly, the chromosomes did not cooperate. From personal experience I would say that you are probably going to miss at least one of those 2 games unles the baby is born before then. You will hav e lots of time to play Halo 3 when you are up at night with the little one. I was just kidding about both, really. I don't mind missing the regular season games nor Halo. I'll take a baby over both, anyday. I was only scared that I might have missed out on the only chance I may aver have on attending a Brewer playoff game. You have to draw the line somewhere. My wife conceeded that part of her was quietly rooting for the Brewers to not make the playoffs. I guess I can't blame her!
