  1. If Rob Deer can be a hitting coach.......
  2. I had a buddy named Stan tell me that the Brewers were going to trade Prince to the Mets for Santana, Beltran and Reyes. And the Mets would throw in 5 million for the heck of it.
  3. Chuck Knoblauch, Steve Sax, Rick Ankiel and their buddies all say hi.
  4. Will definitely be interesting to see how McGwire's hitting philosophy will be. Bulk up, use andro and swing for the fences?
  5. Seconded. Not trying to redirect, but we had downgraded our plan to the family plan, mainly because it was cheaper. We missed lots of channels, and I saw that Dish network was offering a couple of specials. I called DirecTV and said we're thinking about switching, and the rep asked what channels we wanted, and all but one, they had in a super-secret plan. Of course we lost one channel we really like (Food Network), but that's OK. It's actually cheaper than the family plan for one year. Not too shabby!
  6. I agree Invader. I thought it was funny. Pam seemed a bit over the top, but if my annoying, socially awkward boss was sleeping with my mom, I probably would freak out too. Dwight and the mallard was pretty funny. Interesting to see where things go.
  7. Awesome job Todd! I always liked Juden, and it was very good to hear his thoughts.
  8. Once you embrace that reality, it only gets better. I live with 2, my wife and my baby girl, and I accepted that fact long ago. It makes things a whole lot better.
  9. If it is true, I would rather see DeJesus and Greinke for that package. That's a lot to give up for one guy and a few minor leaguers, depending on who they are.
  10. That screams something to me.....can't quite put my finger on it. Oh yeah, and the kids' name is Falcon....why would a parent torture a child like that?
  11. It was a weather type of balloon, not a passenger balloon, from what I'm understanding. Strange story.
  12. They were truly too sexy for their shirts....from there, who knows.
  13. My buddy who is a big Sawks fan thinks Bard will be the closer next year, not Papelbon. Not quite sure if that comment was made due to Papelbon blowing the save, or if there is some validity to it.
  14. I laughed out loud with the whole shoe episode with Kevin...."They smelled so bad we had to throw them out. Incinerate them, in fact." And that those were the only shoes he brought? And to wear Kleenex boxes! Funny stuff!
  15. On a positive note, Sheets gave up less homers that Suppan and Looper combined.
  16. Amen!! Because I put everything (and I mean EVERYTHING) I did on plastic in college and my first few years out, I'm left with a mountain of debt. I lived far beyond my means. Now, we have had to scale back a whole lot, live within a budget, and make sacrifices. I've had to do without ESPN, because we switched to the "family" plan on Directv, because it was cheaper, and I'm still looking for cheaper TV options, because the wife wants her TV. I've sold my golf clubs, my PS2, and have rifled through my CD collection, all in an effort to scale back in life. We will probably have to live this way for about 2-3 years, to get out from under this mountain, and I'm far from excited by it. But I've learned from my mistakes, and once we get out from under the mountain, we will be able to go on trips, do what we want, as long as we save up for it. I bought into the lie that the world sells that stuff is good and you have to have it now. I've realized that is far from true.
  17. Only if he fires Macha. But seconded. Great moves. Would definitely love to see them happen!
  18. I love it! Remember, the team had Gagme for $10 million, and he had a bunch of questions.....Trevor is proven, and is a solid investment for $8 million.
  19. Aaahh, but was the 126 Canadian? That may make the deals a bit more even.
  20. I like the grades....but what about coaches? I'd give Macha an F--, Sveum a C, Castro an F, Bosio was thrown into a no-win situation and I hope he catches on somewhere else.
  21. Bucci has been the surprise to me. Personally, I'd like to see them push some of the younger guys a bit, as other teams have done. He's been quite impressive.
  22. For the love of all that is good and holy, DM needs to tell Macha after the game tomorrow, that he's no longer the manager of the Milwaukee Brewers. The decisions that he has made have not been anywhere close to decisions made by a manager of a team that is was in the playoffs last year. I don't think it matters if DM could put Wright at 3rd, Jimmy Rollins at short, Joe Mauer at catcher, and just about any other good player on the roster, Macha would find some way to screw things up. And I think DM knows that if next year turns out as crappily as this year, he's done. So, he better be ridding himself of the mistake that is Macha ASAP!!
