  1. OK, I've come around on trading Aoki. Package him and Yo to Texas for prospects (Olt plus a pitcher), A-Ram to the Dodgers, Rickie wherever he can, K-Rod, Axford, Henderson, Gonzalez, whoever else in the bullpen gone. Go with Braun in LF (once back from DL), Gomez in center (although, he could be moved and Schaefer could go in center), and a platoon of Schaefer/Gindl in LF. Olt replaces A-Ram, Scooter at 2nd, with Yuni/Bianchi as middle IF backups, Halton up as backup 1B/3B/OF and bring up Nashville's bullpen. Couldn't hurt, could it?
  2. It makes sense, as the Rangers may be needing some more OF help with the possibility of Cruz possibly being suspended....if that happens. But I could definitely see it. Yo grew up in Ft. Worth and still lives there. Rangers top 10 prospects (per BP) SS Jurickson Profar IF/OF Mike Olt LHP Martin Perez C Jorge Alfaro SS Luis Sardinas CF Lewis Brinson RHP Justin Grimm OF Nomar Mazara 1B Ronald Guzman 3B Joey Gallo They've got 2 pitchers in their top 10. Could be a good fit.
  3. As a former Bucks fan who lives in San Antonio and is a Spurs fan, that was an amazing game. Amazing in the fact that I'm jumping up and down, trying to urge the Spurs to win while not wake my sleeping daughters, and I think I expended as much energy as the guys on the court. Both teams are tough, and very evenly matched. I'm hoping that the precedent of the Spurs winning the odd numbered games hold true, but it will be amazing tomorrow. Win or lose, I'm proud of my Spurs. Winning would be better, as I'd get to go to a river parade!
  4. Wow I'm not sure what to make of this. Can't hurt, can it? Although hopefully he makes up his mind one way or the other!
  5. This is exactly what I was thinking.
  6. It seems like Jon Paul Morosi is really trying to get ARam traded, based on tweets last night and today. That would be good if Doug would listen and get a decent return!
  7. Definitely a genius choice on my part to drop Lawrie after his first DL trip for Manny Machado.
  8. I just saw a snippet on Yahoo fantasy that with Henderson's injury, K-rap is going to close again. I quit.
  9. Definitely, but not when he's already 31. His value will never be higher than it is currently. I didn't realize he was that old. Trade his old butt, then!!!
  10. Those are the precise reasons to trade Aoki: being under control and inexpensive, plus having a larger sample now of proven ability to hit MLB pitching, gives Aoki some trade value. Wouldn't that be the type of player to stockpile, if you're building for the future?
  11. I don't know what they do. Obviously, you've got a decent 1b prospect in Morris, a 2b prospect in Gennett. 3rd, Parker hasn't really hit for average, but he's 25, why not give him a shot. See if you can trade Hart, Weeks, A-Ram for prospects. I wouldn't trade Aoki, because he's under control and doesn't cost much. The bigger challenge is pitching. There's a lot of question marks coming up, and so far, they're still question marks. If you trade Hart, Weeks and A-Ram for pitching prospects, maybe pick up another 3B prospect, that's a good start. But, longer term, what do you do? DM got the team to the playoffs, something that hadn't happened since '82. That's good and well, but do you rest on those laurels and say, hey, he did that, but we've taken steps back, and looking forward, it doesn't really look like we'll step forward. I'd say DM has had his chance, bring in a new GM, a new idea of scouting, and see where it goes. At best, we become a perennial playoff contender, at worst, we're back to 2002. We've been there. Right now, I'm not the most excited about this not that great, not that awful.
  12. I expected it, yet extremely disappointed by it. I'm about ready to give up on this season.
  13. ESPN is reporting that the Bucks are seriously considering Jerry Sloan! Why?? From his perspective, why would he?? Horribly run franchise that is happy with mediocrity. RUN JERRY, RUN!!!!!!
  14. Maybe YuB? (yubie) I think RR's cred on this site would go up a little if he dropped the YuniBomber label on him.
  15. If nothing else, Dillard could be brought in for clubhouse entertainment. His Kurkjian impression is amazing!
  16. In other news, water is wet.
  17. And the other NBA news of the day.
  18. I've said for a while that new ownership has to happen before any progress is made. Kohl is accepting of mediocrity, as long as he makes money. Because of that, I gave up on the Bucks years ago.
  19. Best place to start is a new owner, followed by new GM, and new coach. But, seeing that two of the three ain't gonna happen.....good luck.
  20. You can put THAT on the board YES!
  21. Can he be forced to sell the team "in the best interest of baseball"?
  22. $3 to see Lebron and DWade?? Awesome!!!! Oh wait. To see the Bucks get pummeled? Eh, that would be worth it too.
  23. Wainwright pitches 8.2 innings, 118 pitches. Gotta love that the Cardinals bullpen is awful, because it forces Matheny to wear out his starters....in the end, that won't be good.....for the Cardinals. Will be good for the Brewers!
  24. To beat the best team in the NBA, you need excellent players and excellent team play.....that doesn't quite describe the Bucks, now, does it?
