  1. If this trade turns out half as good as the last son of a former major leaguer traded, I'll be happy.
  2. Living in San Antonio, I've watched Freiman play. Great bat, really great pop, pretty good D at first. He's tall (6'6, I believe), but I don't see the Brewers really having interest, as he's only a first baseman.
  3. Henderson in the 7th, Walden in the 8th and Ax in the 9th? That would work for me!
  4. If Big Mac doesn't get in for his playing career, neither does Sosa. Basically same guy and same crime.
  5. Just reading on MLB Trade Rumors, and they're speculating one halfway decent prospect gets him. Maybe take a AA pitcher and trade him for Nolasco?
  6. Even though I don't think OF is a need for the Brewers, most definitely, if it came down to throwing money at Hamilton versus trading Aoki, Peralta and Morris (or something like that) for Stanton, it's a no brainer. Stanton. Hands down. But, is that really where the Brewers have a need? I'd say if you're going to trade, you trade for pitching, but so is everyone else.
  7. If I remember right, he's got one more suspension left from being banned? That may or may not make him motivated.....and it may or may not make teams too excited about taking a flyer on him.
  8. You know, if he somehow makes the team, when he comes in from the bullpen, everyone can start waving the fists and doing the old "woo, woo, woo" from the Arsenio Hall show. Yeah, different spelling....but maybe that's where they were going? No clue.
  9. Come on! They won their 11th title in '11....they gotta go for 12 in '12....ANYTHING GOES!! It's the classiest way to play the game!
  10. They won't. Every other team still in the playoffs is infinitely better than them.
  11. Already got from my Cardinal buddy....Heyward was lucky to catch the ball (don't disagree), getting the time called for Ross was lucky (whatever) and that "Not sure who is happier about that home run: Ross or the Atlanta based broadcasting crew." I informed him that BA was the Brewers' announcer and of course "that explains the shoddy calling".
  12. I'm good with the Braves beating the Classies tonight, then basically the only team in the playoffs that doesn't excite me is the Yankees. And I can even sort of tolerate them. I think this year's playoffs will be fun and exciting. I am most definitely looking forward to them!
  13. My apologies to Dr. Seuss I do not want KRod He has become a fraud Not on my team, Not with ice cream, Not on the mound, Not on the ground, Not in Milwaukee, Waukesha or Ozaukee, Not for a buck, Not just for luck. I do not want KRod!
  14. My bug is simple today. Last night, the neighbor behind us, whose backyard butts up against ours, had their regular party. They'll have a bunch of people over, be loud, and play their Mexican music nice and loud. All this is good and fine, however, I have a 3 year old and a 9 month old, and this regularly continues past 2 AM. So, of course, not much sleep was had at my house. As far as I can tell, the 3 year old slept, but the 9 month old, who has issues with sleeping, definitely didn't. My wife called the non-emergency police number at about 1:30, and that seemed to help. But, of course, they leave their bright back patio light on, which shines right into the girls' room. I can't wait to buy my own house so that I can pick what neighborhood I am in and find neighbors that have younger children!!
  15. Along with that, John Jay and Carlos Beltran run into each other in a catastrophic pregame incident, Molina comes down with ink poisoning and 5 of their pitchers come down with Pabst's revenge. For the rest of the season.
  16. Goal #1.....just win, baby Goal #2.....to get goal #1 accomplished, have all starters go 9 innings Goal #3.....if goal #2 is unsuccessful, don't use Loe or K-rod or anyone who sucks.
  17. I have Trumbo and he's just had a horrible last month. I've got him on my bench and could definitely use a better option. Upton, Rios, Hart, Beltran, Choo are just some of the OF options I have available. Do I dump Trumbo for one of these other guys?
  18. Link to story on MLBPAA's website. Apologies if this had already been posted.
  19. Extend what? His arms? His legs? Agreed on the pointless move.
  20. Google leads to: http://www.milb.com/milb/stats/stats.jsp?sid=milb&t=p_pbp&pid=594734 Says he's currently active and in Arizona. Also from farmhand injury report thread: "LHP Dane Amedee -- 28th round 2010 pick, now 21, did not pitch in 2011, yet to appear in a spring training box score; sorry, no update - unclear if absence is injury-related. Still listed in the 2012 media guide, still with the organization, hopefully seen soon in a box score."
  21. Why??? I mean, we need a shortstop....why not move Rickie there? Or Gomez? That's just crazy talk!
  22. Yeah, that's a total genius move! The guy is hittable when seen once a game, why not give hitters multiple opportunities. Not to mention that Burgos, Thornburg, Rogers, Nelson and basically anyone at AA or AAA is a better starting option than Manny. No thanks.
