  1. Good God, will this soap opera never end? ESPN.com has that Texas is "imminently" going to the Pac-10, while Orangebloods.com says they're "imminently" committing to what's left of the Big 12! Sounds like a woman that won't make up her mind!
  2. OK, newest bit is this: The Big 12 commissioner is trying to keep who is left together. It would be $17 million going to each school yearly, each school could come up with their own network, and no Championship game. This seems to be enticing for Texas. If you want more info, check out orangebloods.com
  3. He reminds me of Joe Alexander. That scares me.
  4. The most important move I want to see is Ken Macha far, far, far away from Milwaukee! Anything above that is gravy to me.
  5. I'm concerned that he's starting to get angry......YOU DON'T LIKE PRINCE WHEN HE'S ANGRY!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  6. Haudricourt didn't sound all too glowing in the article either. Not a problem greeg. It was a bit early and the coffee hadn't fully kicked in! That's what I get for reading the internet without being completely awake!
  7. I guess Haudricourt played outfield growing up, and not well. I read this earlier and thought that this was a stupid statement to make. Yes, every position is stressful. Angel is clearly having issues, and I think he's wanting to try a different position to see if it makes any difference. I don't fault him for it one bit. If this makes the difference, then that's fantastic. But Tom's guess of Angel never playing for the Brewers is just stupid and uncalled for.
  8. One of the big things going on that I'm trying to figure out is that there has been a very strong rivalry between Texas A&M and Texas. The two schools even discussed their plans apparently, so that whatever happens, they stay together. Now A&M is talking SEC, SEC, SEC (which is where the best fit for Texas would be in my opinion), and all the talk with Texas is Pac-10. So either there's something fishy, A&M is blowing smoke to get a better deal with the Pac-10, or Texas is blowing smoke. As for Texas Tech, yes, I don't think they go without Texas or possibly Oklahoma. They're not a prize in all of this.
  9. I don't think it's premature to say if the Big 12 does fold, but when. Nebraska and Colorado are gone, Oklahoma, Oklahoma St., Texas, and either Texas Tech or Texas A&M seem to be the 4 going to the Pac-10, so what are you left with? Iowa State, Kansas, Kansas St., Missouri, Baylor and either Texas Tech or A&M as your conference? Who are you going to pull in to replace all of those teams? And it's going to be a stronger conference? Nope. The Big 12 is toast. It was toast as soon as Notre Dame turned down the Big 10.
  10. Strong the force is with this one.......or Yoda is calling the games.
  11. Or, Washington or Oregon, if they join the Pac-10.
  12. Devon White inside the park home run at The Humpty Dump back when I was in 8th grade. Edit: Wrong guy. I looked it up. Why I thought Shane Mack, I don't know. June 1, 1992.
  13. Source Maybe, for the sake of politics, they are trying to push A&M to the SEC by feigning Pac-10 interest (which A&M doesn't like), and once they're off Texas's back they'll flip flop to the Big 10, who maybe doesn't want A&M. Or maybe more likely, there is a faction at the University of Texas that still want to join the Big 10 that need to be convinced. But I don't think anything is over yet. What is known is that the Regents meet on Tuesday and there's a press conference scheduled for Tuesday afternoon for Texas. If it isn't the Pac-10, that would be one of the bigger surprises ever pulled off, because most "experts" and those in the know seem to think they're going Pac-10.
  14. Living an hour from Austin, I'd love Texas to join the Big 10. But, it really looks like they're heading toward the Pac-10. There's still a few moves to be made, I think, but my guess is that the rest of the Big 12 teams join the Mountain West. I think down the road, that conference will be fun to watch!
  15. I think Loe has done a good job in relief, and wouldn't mind seeing him get bumped back to the rotation. Rogers or Jones would be nice, to see what they can do. It seems that it's throw crap against the wall and see what sticks mode, so why not.
  16. Out of what we currently have available, yes, I'd list Capuano as one of the best 5.......would you put Bush out there over him?
  17. Parra vs. Suppan.....a battle royale for a roster spot. Winner stays, loser.....GOES HOME!!!! :-)i realize this was a joke, but DANG, you might have been onto something with this one.No joke. I was serious
  18. Cue the Hallelujah Chorus!!! It's taken long enough, but this is a step in the right direction........now can Macha be fired? I'm not asking for too much, really!!
  19. I'm definitely not disappointed in Manny after last night. He pitched great. Macha should have pulled him sooner, though. It was pretty obvious he was gassed.
  20. Anybody wondering if Coffey still has a thumb left? With the way injuries have happened this year, it's been initially announced as something minor, then all of a sudden, it's huge. Or at least that's how it's seemed to me.
  21. This is idiotic. The rotation at this point needs to be as monty said.....Yo, Wolf, Parra, Narveson and Cappy. At this point, those are your best 5 starters. The idea of guys having undefined roles is just stupid. No one is going to know what to expect from game to game. Look at what happened to Estrada. Stretched out as a starter, and used in the majors as a reliever, pitching 3 days in a row. That's smart. And you wonder why he's now on the DL.
  22. Why, so he can sit on the bench with Lucroy? Let him play in AAA.
  23. To be fair, last night, he was just intimated by Albert's aura.
