  1. Correct me if I am wrong, but I believe Nelson Cruz was unable to handle the breaking pitches. (At least that was the justification when we traded him. You can't play in MLB if you can't hit a curve)

  8. Does Brevard County still have a team? It seems like every game is rained out.
  9. Glad to see the pitching is thriving in Nashville.
  10. I assume the asterisks mean "team option", since I know Torres has a team option.

  15. I don't ever remember Turnbow being lights out. Turnbow was rock star. He was always wild and walking players. But it sure was a fun ride.
  16. Lucroy is getting to "ridiculous" level. Did he even notice he was promoted?
  17. Well, if a team in the top 15 of the draft were to sign CC - we get there second round pick instead of the first round pick. So the second round draft choices are very relevant. (We didn't get a 1st for Cordero or Linebrink) Brewer is only in A+ because the Brewers were getting frustrated with his lack of production in low-A, they just wanted to try and jump start his production. He may be a prospect - but he certainly is not a "high quality prospect". Brewer has done nothing in the minor leagues to justify his draft rankings. If Gwynn had any kind of trade value - he would have been traded by now.
  18. He has been throwing a lot slower lately. He almost looks like a "junk" pitcher now - but it seems to be working. Those 92 MPH fastballs were not fooling anyone.
  19. And Brent Brewers was a 2nd round pick.Mark Rogers was a 1st round pick. Tony Gwynn Jr. was a 2nd round pick. Josh Murray was a 2nd round pick. Mike Jones was a 1st round pick. It is unfair to diminish the potential of Brantley, Lucroy, Green and Cain based on where they were drafted. The important thing is that they have already played very well in higher levels of the minor leagues. Draft picks are great. (Especially with Jack Z) But they are also a crap shoot.
  20. Good call. I am sure Haudricourt wasn't going to move players around like that - but Farris certainly stands out (as on oddity) on that list.
  21. Branyan without a doubt. This team was struggling mightily before he arrived. His incredible hot streak helped the Brewers win a few games and climb back into contention. Without Branyan sparking the Brewers for 3 weeks - I am not sure we would have been in a position to trade for CC Sabathia.
  22. I've watched every game - and hadn't noticed them! Corey Hart is freaking awesome. Is there a story behind that? I mean, did he one day just wake up and think "Man, those lines I used to have in the side of my head when I was 12 were cool - I should do that again!"?
  23. Does Corey Hart have "lines" (A la the 80's) shaved into the side of his head? It sure looked like it after he scored. Unless his helmet just created them in his hair...
  24. I am kind of surprised to see Gindl on the list instead of Cain.
