  1. I love small ball. I just don't like asking people to do things that haven't practiced or prepared for. I wouldn't ask my accountant to perform surgery either. If the Brewers need to bunt a player over - Suppan would do a much better job that Hart, Hardy, or Hall.
  2. Nope. I discussed that yesterday with a friend. You have to take the chance and try to hope you can have CC for the playoffs. If not, you still have him for game 163. I am so excited about Sheets. I would imagine CC pitching on 3 days rest and Yovanni pitching after surgery on his knee has been pretty motivating.
  3. I am going to miss wvpowerblkwel's first hand experience's updating the minor leaguers progress.
  4. Well there goes next season! (note: sarcasm - lots of it) Seriously though, I wonder what his pitch count will be. I have to imagine around the 75 pitches he threw the other day in Arizona.
  5. I can't believe how many negative comments about Yo pitching this year. He just pitched 5 innings and 75 pitches in a simulated game in Arizona. He hurt his leg. Not his arm. Do you really think he spent the past 4 months completely neglecting his arm?!? I'd be shocked if Yo didn't pitch at this point. And pitch well.
  6. Three years ago the last game was free. Two years ago the last game came with a voucher for a free game the following year. (All bad mid-week games. I saw the Pirates) Not sure what they did last year.
  7. Fantastic news about Brantley. The more playing time he gets - the better. He still has some developing to do, and missing time this past year with injury did not help.
  8. I am disgusted by the fact that Juan Pierre on the Brewers actually makes some sense. You forgot to mention he would be an additional LH batter. However, I would rather have 2 years of overpaying for Suppan than 3 years of overpaying for Pierre. (Plus, in a year Brantley would be better than Pierre already and play the same position.)
  9. I think Lawrie's future is really tied to the PTNL. If we trade away a Lucroy, Lawrie will probably play catcher. If we trade away Green, Lawrie might very well end up a 3B. I'd really like to see Lawrie force the Brewers hand a little with his bat. We could use some better results from the 2008 draft class.
  10. I was selected in the playoff lottery for tickets. (Like those will do any good) Dale Sveum will not be our head coach next year. We are going to get 4 very high draft picks when Sheets and CC leave. Yovani Gallardo had a 1.80 ERA before he got hurt. He looks like he will be a legitimate stud. Jeffress doesn't smoke pot anymore. We still have a loaded farm system. (Did anyone think 3 years ago that of Weeks, Fielder, Hardy and Hart - Hardy would end up the best? You can certainly make the argument.)
  11. Since everyone is ignoring the stats... Since being traded to Cleveland LaPorta's line is .299/.350/.649 (While still playing AA) I am not saying LaPorta isn't going to be good, but he is still a long ways away from being an All-Star. Last I heard, he still can't hit a breaking pitch. Ask Nelson Cruz how far that gets you...
  12. Ouch. When you put it like that...Ouch! I don't think I've ever liked a person as much as Tony Gwynn Jr. - while at the same time hating the player Tony Gwynn Jr. so much.
  13. There were certainly plenty of throw-ins. As I mentioned, I received the Braun bobblehead, three uncut card sheets, a team program, two team photos, and 5 sheets of player cards. (It seems like every give-a-way that had during the year was thrown into the box.) However, they didn't really "pack" anything. So during shipping, a lot of the items were banged around. Two uncut card sheets were completely crumpled and I just threw out.
  14. The Brewers are playing like garbage - and the AAA manager gets fired!?! My thoughts as well. I highly doubt he was let go to merely pursue "other opportunities". I wonder if there might have been some undermining/bad speak of the MLB team as Kremblas pushed for Ned's job.

  18. Disappointing: My Gamel jersey had about a 5 inch tear along the bottom. Pleasant surprise: Got a 2008 Braun Huntsville bobblehead thrown in the box as well. Result: M'eh - at least all the money went to charity.
  19. I'd email or call the Sounds. Buck Rogers, the GM of Huntsville, handled the sale of Huntsville's jerseys this year.
  20. I laughed so hard at the game after that play. I thought it was classic that CC bare handed the ball again.
  21. I don't like Gagne in my bullpen. He has been, without a doubt, a very poor investment. However, Milwaukee fans booing him tonight when he came into the game was a disgrace. You stay classy Milwaukee!
  22. Seeing as how Yo has been traveling with the team the last few series and in the dugout throughout this whole home stand... I feel pretty confident he will pitch before the year is done.
  23. I already talked to my ticket rep about re-upping for next year in the terrace reserve. He mentioned a likely increase of a "couple bucks" per ticket. (Which would be a pretty significant increase) As for not allowing carry-ins...I would be really upset if I didn't plan on just sneaking my peanuts and water into the ball park anyways.
  24. I've said many bad things about Escobar in the past 2 years. I never thought his bat would be good enough for MLB. After watching him play in Spring Training - I started to to believe. This is my official apology to Escobar, he really looks like a legit prospect.
