The resale market for Packers tickets is way down. Summerfest, State Fair attendance way down. So was the MN State Fair attendance. Could be wrong, but the Bucks didn’t sell out the first couple games of the Hawks series. COVID is going to muck these things up for awhile. But I actually do wonder if the Brewers will sell out their playoff games… -
This team doesn’t have the buzz? Maybe I’m missing something… This is literally the best pitching 1-13 this team has ever assembled. Scoring runs at a very good clip. Playing very good defense besides Urias. None of that has anything to do with buzz. They can't even sell-out a game. There's not the excitement we had last couple playoff runs, there's just not. This is because of covid and the Bucks, probably.

I saw a tweet somewhere that there is an expectation that Giannis will play if there is a game 7, if true that is good news. Just need to get out of this series. Will the finals start Monday if they win tonight? Tuesday. The team probably has its bags packed to go straight to Phoenix from Atlanta. If it goes to G7, Finals begin Thursday. -

Just wanted to chime in with two thoughts: The new pizza at the stadium is disgusting. And, the quality of food served in the suites is embarrassing. -
Pretty sure that the Moderna and Pfizer results were unblinded the day before the two announcements were made.

NY’s quarantine order carves out an exemption for sports. Given MLB’s rigorous testing procedure, I’m very confident this quarantine order will not apply to baseball. The season is ruined if teams are bound by the order.

Seems like MLB is stalling on implementing the 50 game season, so the Union has less of a leg to stand on when they file their grievance.

The gating criteria has nearly been met now and we approaching a “Phase 1” reopening, but what happens if cases jump at some point? Maybe another safer at home order would be necessary? I think the court will make a decision soon anticipating that a second wave could necessitate additional action.

I think it’s been mentioned because golf restrictions have varied among the states. I definitely have seen some people playing golf on the MKE county courses in the past month.

A more conservative estimate is probably July 4 and an 82 game season

CDC indicating that people should avoid gatherings of 50+ people for 8 weeks - that’s May 10. We are definitely not seeing baseball until at least June.

I think if the Finals are played in July and the Bucks are involved, they’ll move the games to the Kohl Center. Just spitballing, but that makes the most sense. Think the NBA does anything it can to crown a champion on the court by the end of August - even if they just jump to a Bucks-Lakers Finals and then start the 20-21 season in December.

The season is scheduled to start early because baseball wanted to avoid a conflict between the World Series and the election. I wonder if they’re considering moving the games played at the end of March/early April to the end of September, as they did after 9/11. You’d have the conflict with the election, but it could buy MLB another week.

Too much of the media coverage of the NBA is centered around future player movement and dysfunction, but not on the product currently taking place. I was listening to a national show on sports radio a couple weeks ago and the host referred to the current season as a “gap season.” Why? Because Zion Williamson has been hurt, there’s no marquee free agent this summer and the Warriors are missing their best players and are godawful. Are you kidding me? It’s not enough that the best player in the league (Giannis) and the best player of this generation (LeBron) are on track to meet in the Finals - there just has to be prospective drama to keep the NBA media talking. During the 2019 Finals, nobody could focus on the actual basketball taking place - the primary focus seemed to be on where Kawhi and Durant (well, before he tore in Achilles in G5) were signing in a couple weeks. If Giannis does not sign the supermax in July, do not underestimate how insufferable sports media will be next season. His pending free agency will be the top story of the 2020-21 season (and not, you know, the actual basketball).

Classic NFL unable to get out of its own way. They totally overhaul the system to allow replay review of PI. Yet, an obvious PI penalty occurs in the end zone of Game 256 with 15 seconds left and the division and HFA in the air — and, guess what, they don’t even initiate a booth review.
