  1. AmFam paying twice as much as Miller was for naming rights. https://www.bizjournals.com/milwaukee/news/2019/02/14/american-family-paying-4m-per-year-for-brewers.html
  2. How did he have a ton of luck? He was 14th in K% among starters, 25th in BB%, HR/FB wasn't so low that you would think that he's going to give up a ton of homers in the coming years, he had a horrific defense behind him, was 2nd among starters in the amount of hard contact generated against and 6th in soft contact. Does he have a 2.37 ERA this year? Probably not but there was nothing that says he was extremely lucky or anything less than say a top 15-20 pitcher.
  3. The Bucks are 1 win shy of last year's win total at the all-star break.
  4. So what bothers you? If a bunch of these guys are so great and ML ready, it would stand to reason that the Braves would have no need for Keuchel. Them being in on Keuchel, therefore tells me that perhaps the young studs that are already being appointed aces by media and fans are possibly instead overrated. Well I'll take a couple of their guys if they sign Keuchel.
  5. I'm 31 and it was always a TYME machine for me because there was one right by us and whenever my mom had to run errands before we were old enough to stay home alone she would always go there. Big block lowercase TYME letters so 6-8 year old me always thought it was just called a TYME machine and that's where you got money from.
  6. Vogt's throws are so powerful that he can get a ball through a mountain.
  7. Is that verified by StatCast™? *numbers are approximate*
  8. It would take Vogt approximately 62,958,391 throws to get a baseball from Milwaukee to San Francisco.
  9. My in-laws still call the couch a davenport.
  10. How old are you? Because when I was growing up in the 90s my dad (now 69, nice) called them thongs and nobody knew what he was talking about.
  11. First base for the sexually inexperienced.
  12. 100% this.
  13. Who would you rather start a franchise with, Rex Grossman or Jared Goff? I'll hang up and take your answer off the air.
  14. As long as the news doesn't involve the Brewers signing him, I'm good.
  15. I'd give Machado and Harper a 10 year deal right now and not think twice about it.
  16. There is absolutely no incentive for Shaw to sign a deal that cheap.
  17. I'm really starting to get an Ahab/White Whale vibe from Stearns and his pursuit of a #1 starter. The Brewers have literally been linked to every decent starter who has theoretically come onto the market for the last 1 1/2 years. Stearns doesn't seem to have any issue acquiring top players at other positions, but just hasn't been able to pull the trigger on a top starter, despite being linked to so many. Will this be the offseason that it finally happens? I honestly think this is more media driven than anything. Media thinks the Brewers absolutely need a top of the rotation starter, so they hear whispers that the Brewers are talking about them, which they probably are but if a deal gets done, they want it done on their terms at their price. Media then takes this interest and inflates it to a level that Stearns is desperately looking around for a top of the rotation starter.
  18. Oh come on. The only way this is a bad business decision is if people are stupid and stop going to games because they're so upset that Miller isn't the sponsor anymore. That seems highly, highly unlikely. It doesn't degrade the Brewers brand on anything. They're still serving that swill to these same people at 5x its worth. The Brewers and Miller come out just fine on that. You think any other fan base would have a conniption like ours did if their team changed the name of the stadium? The whole reason we're having a conniption is that we thought our team was above things like giving their ballpark a stupid name. We thought that because virtually every decision under Attanasio's watch has been made with the brand image in mind. The public backlash is proof that people are attached to the Miller Park name and they don't want to let it go so easily. Even the Marlins of all teams have decided that they don't want to given their ballpark a stupid name-- “We're not looking simply to put a brand on this building.” First, nobody even knows what the park is going to be named so how do you know it's going to be stupid? Second, if you were owner of the Brewers and the naming rights to the stadium came up and one company was willing to offer more than another company, would you decline the bigger offer because of "brand image" or would you happily take the extra money? My guess is 99% of the people freaking out about this would happily take the extra money if it was their decision.

  20. Keith Law has Zack Brown at 85 with this report
  21. http://bloguin.com/wezenball/wp-content/uploads/sites/113/2010/05/grifftonic.jpg He's not going to get the playing time until he shaves those sideburns.
  22. Lou Palsmo Field at Woah Solvdd Stadium
  23. Nor should they. The backlash about this is so dumb.
  24. Imagine how much better their offer could be if they didn't give Hosmer that stupid contract.
