  1. Yet Ruben Amaro still has a job.
  2. Krush Davis has some ridiculous power. That's like a HR derby type, right under Bernie's slide.
  3. You can have one challenge in the first 66% of the game but you get two in the last 33%! How dumb.
  4. First I'd like welcome MLB to the 21st century. Now let me say that these rules are stupid. Umpires aren't above making multiple awful calls in the first 6 innings yet managers can only have one challenge in that time. Giving managers three challenges is good, only allowing them to use one in the first 6 innings is an awful idea. Let them use them when they want to.
  5. Aoki with 16 steals and 11 caught stealing on the year in addition to his .695 OPS. Not much value there.
  6. I'll take a $1 million gamble that a 2nd round pick will develop into a productive player over a $30 million gamble that the free agent we sign is healthy and productive throughout the entire contract.
  7. Wrong. None of those guys were good enough to draw a QO from their previous team. I'm not in favor of losing picks over free agents as that's no way to build the foundation others have described in detail. With that said, I'm not sure what the "hit" rate is in the 2nd round but I'd bet that it isn't above 50%. That being the case and also considering many of those that do hit are fringe starters and backups, a "mediocre" FA is a win for that pick historically. It's not wrong. Chances are any free agent we sign will be mediocre and not live up to the full contract given. Let's stay away from that. Looper was awful, Wolf was awful the last year of his deal, Suppan was awful through his whole contract, Ramirez has been injured this year. Let's stay clear of free agents and keep our draft picks.
  8. I know he does UWM men's basketball games.
  9. Or Wolf or Suppan or Looper.
  10. I'm not sure how having a competitive balance pick "makes up" for losing a 2nd round pick. Signing a player and losing our 2nd round pick doesn't grant us a competitive balance pick, we're just losing a 2nd round draft pick on a likely mediocre, expensive free agent. we've already got the comp pick between 1st and 2nd round, so if the brewers lost their 2nd rd pick for signing a player who recieved a QO, its a wash/end up with a higher signing pool with a "normal" number of draft picks. But you're still losing a pick. Just because you got one in the competitive balance lottery doesn't mean we should piss away a 2nd for a likely mediocre and expensive free agent.

  12. Aoki is one especially considering his OPS has dropped below .700, everytime Betancourt gets a start at 1st over someone like Davis I get pissed as well.
  13. There's no way they're going to do that even though Aoki is incredibly mediocre.
  14. Good to see that a young player can perform well and get sent back to the minors.
  15. [sarcasm]That helped last year.[/sarcasm]
  16. I think I'd rather play the Orioles and Blue Jays on the road. I think it's been since 2005 that we played the Blue Jays on the road and I believe since 2003 that we played the Orioles on the road. I think the last time we played the Yankees at home was 2005 and I think 2004 for the Red Sox.
  17. What? You're talking about using a position player when you're losing by a ton, so mop up duty. So you're saying pitching Donovan Hand in mop up duty can show he is capable of more than just mop up duty?
  18. I really don't think the Brewers will allow it to vest unless Weeks starts out great and continues it throughout the season.
  19. The ball slowed down and went in a direction it wouldn't have if it wasn't touched which is why it took Ibanez so long to reach it.
  20. I wish these minor league reports would give us something other than how a 30 year old career minor leaguer did. Just skip the segment if that's all you have.
  21. First I want to express my love for the city of Seattle. Beautiful, one of my favorite places. Second, if Bill would actually shut up and watch the replay he would see it hit the guy in the hand wearing a gray shirt.

  23. I really hate that Davis has been basically relegated to weak side platoon. He has a 1.014 OPS in his 36 at bats. See what he can do full time.
  24. Agree so much with this. Brian just never shuts up, I don't care that this pitcher is from Texas close to where you're from. Just shut up once in a while.
