  1. Assuming we can't sign Sabathia and the Brewers feel that makes Cameron expendable, I wouldn't mind that. It cuts about $5 million off the payroll next year, it adds a switch hitter and he wasn't as bad as his numbers looked this year. I don't know if I'd want him in CF, but I don't think he would be horrible there.
  2. From what I heard there weren't a lot of callers. Maybe three total. There was a long interview with Bill Castro, he took a few calls then Trenni was on and they replayed an interview from a few days ago with Salomon Torres on the Greenhouse.
  3. And Abreu's money. It's insane how much money they have coming off the books.
  4. A sad day for those who love baseball, the stupidity of writers and comedy. Link
  5. Yep, knew I was right. "Are the Brewers going to go after K-Rod? He just finished the best season ever for a closer. He's going to get Sabathia like money." Oy! Now he's talking about free agent options. Before he was talking about Weeks' "boneheaded defense and inconsistent offense" and specifically names Jeff Kent and Felipe Lopez. "I would love Rafael Furcal but he's really inconsistent. He could either hit .240 or .325." Yeah, except he's never hit lower than .270. Now he says that Alcides Escobar has proven he can hit but he's not sure if the Brewers think his defense is ready. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/laugh.gif This is why the casual Brewer fan usually has no idea what they're talking about. Because they listen to the likes of Dan O'Donnell talking about the Brewers.
  6. The cat is just nervous about the bet she lost. http://www.guzer.com/pictures/backhand_hustlin_kitty.jpg
  7. I would listen if there was a better host. Usually I like my hosts of a specific team to know what they're talking about.
  8. Yes, if Michigan was good it would be worse.
  9. I wouldn't take Millwood but I'd take Lowe over Sheets on that list. I think Hudson is going to be out for a while because of that arm surgery he had earlier this year, so I'd take Sheets over him too.
  10. Actually, since they played us in April it could have only been one game. So Sheets beat Santana in April. That game ended up being the difference between playoffs and no playoffs. Sheets = clutch -- Santana = unclutch. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/wink.gif
  11. Important bank records are things related to taxes, mortgage payments, business expenses etc. Keep pay stubs until you get your W-2 form. Make sure the information on the stubs matches your W-2 form, if it does, you can shred them. Retirement savings like a 401(k).
  12. Keep all tax related things for seven years. Unimportant bank records for a year; the rest permanently. Shred bills once you get a cancelled check. Keep quarterly retirement savings statements until you get an annual statement. If they match up, shred the quarterly statements and keep the annual statements permanently. Hey, that World of Business class I took in high school did come in handy after all. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif
  13. I would assume we start with an Escobar and Jeffress package. Add in a few second tier prospects and see where that gets us.
  14. I like the deal for the A's. Wouldn't be real excited about it if I was a Rockies fan. Gonzalez has some pretty good upside but Street is two years away from free agency and is going to cost over $4 million this year and Smith is going to get owned in Coors Field.
  15. There's pretty much no chance of that happening.
  16. As long as we're talking about Hardy's range, he was rated the third best shortstop in the plus/minus system at +19 by Fielding Bible. The only players ahead of him were Rollins (+23) and Yunel Escobar (+21).
  17. Why? Ludwick posted a .966 OPS last year to Holliday's .947 (.892 on the road.) They can make this deal, sign him to a big extension and I wouldn't shed a tear.
  18. I really don't see a match with the Twins. Yes, they have young pitching, but they're not going to trade Liriano, Baker or Slowey for Hardy and imo Hardy has more value than Blackburn and Perkins.
  19. 95.7 actually did a poll last year on when they should start Christmas music. I think a week before Christmas ended up winning so that's when they started. They left a phone number this year to call and tell them what you think about Christmas music right now. Based on last year's results, I can't imagine too many people are happy about the switch, especially this early. Must say though, I've been listening to this station and I'm very impressed. Listening to Tempted by Squeeze right now. Haven't heard this song for a while and the last time I heard it was for that Heineken commercial.
  20. I don't know about other stations but 95.7 literally started on Halloween. I'm fine with Christmas music for a couple weeks before Christmas, but two months before? Sorry, can't deal with that. Even a little after Thanksgiving is too early. Good music now. Manfred Mann's Earth Band. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif
  21. I'm actually listening to it right now because the station I normally listen to (95.7 WRIT) started playing Christmas music on Halloween which is just brutal. First song I hear is You can dance if you want to by Men at Work. Not exactly what I was looking for.
  22. Yes, but Cameron is above average and it's not like we don't have pitchers in the minors that will be ready in a couple of years that can be 4/5 starters. Periard, Anundsen, Welch, Wright etc. These guys could be 4/5 starters making the minimum so why trade an above average CF (something you need) for something you already have?
  23. Am I the only one who has no interest in Kennedy either? I don't see him as anything more than a 4/5 starter. Yeah, he's cheap, but we have plenty of 4/5 starters on the team.
  24. I really, really, really don't want Fuentes. Way too much money for a 70 inning pitcher and we have to give up our first round pick. I would much rather go after Brandon Lyon.
