  1. http://brewers.mlblogs.com/2016/01/26/brewers-unveil-new-alternate-logo-navy-blue-jersey-will-be-worn-most-sundays-at-home-and-on-the-road/ #1 - i don't know how they can say this is a new alternative jersey #2 - they have way too many jerseys - 7 full time ones now. #3 - i wonder if this means the are getting any closer to a full rebranding. seems silly to introduce new jerseys every 1-2 seasons, but still keep the main logo and jersey. overall, i guess i am OK with this. I like blending in the past with the future, i just wish the brewers would do something like this full time. EDIT: seems like the road Milwaukee and yellows are obsolete.
  2. I think its cool that there is a difference between leagues. Its the only sport that has a subtle difference. Count me on the side that hopes that the DH stays in the AL.
  3. takes 2 to tango. I think with Nashville the issue was that the sounds let their intentions be known late and the brewers had other opportunities (Albuquerque), but didn't pursue them since they assumed they were keeping Nashville with a new stadium.
  4. This season you need to focus on individual performances rather than wins or loses. Therefore if Jimmy Nelson gives up 1 run over 7 innings and the brewers lose 1-0; i'd leave Miller Park happy. To answer the question, I am most looking forward to see what in season trades are made and what prospects are coming up. I think I will be following the sky sox and shuckers closer than I would normally.
  5. Looks like it was the brewers decision due to the aging stadium in beloit. https://badgerherald.com/sports/2004/10/07/after-23-years-with/
  6. The List is pretty weak for on deck (even though I know the roster is exactly filled with star power). Seems odd that Lucroy won't be there) http://brewers.mlblogs.com/2016/01/18/brewers-on-deck-attendees-announced-3/
  7. I am not sure they will be changing logos anytime soon, unless they go back to the ball and glove full time. There isn't much a team can do with the nickname brewers in todays PC world. While I am not a huge fan of their current logo, i do like that it gives some tribute to Milwaukee's brewing history while doesn't celebrate the over consumption of alcohol. I think that is the best you are going to get. When the bucks changed logos, there was a strong indication a full year before that it was going to happen.
  8. there is something to be said about having your triple A team in the south if the long term plan is to keep affiliates in biloxi and brevard county. Will be much easier to play ball in April and May, would be easy to promote / demote players from double a to triple a, and Sterms or any other brewers official could visit all 3 teams pretty quickly. This is why i would love to see if the New Orleans would dump the Marlins for the brewers. From a fan standpoint Madison would be awesome, but i understand the negatives of the move.
  9. i understand that, and nobody knows how much more the brewers got for throwing in Fiers. My point is that the brewers need to get 2 top prospects. I'd throw in Smith to sweeten the pot, but i would keep every controllable starter they got.
  10. I'd probably going to Madison a couple times over the course of the season which would be a few less times I am at Miller Park, I get why the brewers wouldn't want to give up that revenue. It would though force the brewers to put a competitive product on the field as the sky sox will be more exciting to follow this season than the parent club. My point is that other clubs don't have an issue with it, so why should the brewers, because I am sure many brewer fans would love to see prospects live in person before they are up to the bigs. There has been no correlation between attendance and having a A ball team in Appleton (i understand that low A and triple A are a huge difference)
  11. Brewers wouldn't allow it that is the problem. We already talked about this once where, in the Brewers case, it would pull away from the MLB attendance etc. to where it wouldn't make sense for them to put the AAA team close to home.that makes sense, but toledo is about an hour from Detroit, and the tigers don't have a problem. The sky sox were within 1.5 hours and the Rockies were OK with that for so many years. I also don't think that it would affect MLB attendance at all. The brewers aren't worried about have the Chinooks in Mequon. I know its college kids, but if $ was the only factor families would be flocking there. There would be some effect i am sure, but I think its minimal.
  12. I think if that was true the brewers would have not DFA'd Pinto. I understand that most of us on this board believe this trade would be best for the future of the team, but I don't want Sterns to trade our most valuable asset for less than what they got for Gomez. I would rather wait and see what happens rather than trade below fair value.
  13. i think instead of trying to buy / invest in a team like Columbus or Louisville, it would be cool to get an International team in Madison. Of course i do not know the logistics of this, since this means that one current team would have to disband. Madison supports the Mallards pretty well and do not have any professional sports as high as triple A baseball. I think it would be very successful for Madison and Mark A.
  14. one bloggers opinion on this very topic, of course this lineup has projected trades so take it for what its worth. http://www.brewcrewball.com/2016/1/14/10705232/projecting-the-2019-milwaukee-brewers
  15. Thank you, from a brewers prospective, i think New Orleans would make the most sense. Miami has a bottom 5 system, plus its a former brewers affiliate. Close to Biloxi and Brevard County. EDIT: I can't see Toledo leaving detroit no matter what. It would be as shocking as Wisconsin leaving the brewers as an affiliate.
  16. with the rams leaving, and Indianapolis opening trying to woo Rams fans to cheer for the colts, i was wondering if the brewers left what would people do? I think i would probably be an Indians fan
  17. very hard to predict, I think Phillips will be playing center in 3 years. I would hope that Santana is playing left. Will braun be on the team in 3 years?, who knows. They also have top prospects in Taylor and Clark.
  18. Colorado Springs should be decent next season, plus the brewers should have a top 10 farm system, which would make them attractive to teams at the end of the 2016 season. I don't think the brewers will be stuck with the last available affiliate like they were in 2015. Therefore the San Antonio talk could be moot. Does anyone have a link with affiliates up for renewal, i can't find one online.
  19. I still think you try to trade Davis, but if you don't get a reasonable offer (Which at this point seems likely), I don't know what you do. I think the best plan if you have to keep both of them is to start Davis in Left, Santana in Center, and Braun in Right. Broxton and then a Niewenheus or Flores as the 5th outfielder. Ideally i would like to see Davis traded, Broxton starting in center and then Niewenheu and Flores as the backups.
  20. just wondering what other posters thought about this years options. my thoughts: 1) seems like some of the shirts that didn't make last years cut reappeared. 2) i wish they would have tried the mid 90's logo shirt again though. 3) Bernie's chalet and the Aaron shersey are by far my 2 favorites, with the clock tower shirt a distant 3rd. 4) wouldn't make an effort to get to any other game to get any other shirt, they are look similar to shirts that they are gave out / i have or are boring. http://milwaukee.brewers.mlb.com/mil/fan_forum/shirt_vote.jsp
  21. i have gone the last few years and enjoy just walking around, looking at the exhibitors, watching the game shows, getting photos with players. i have no interest in standing in line or paying for an autograph.
  22. I honestly didn't care who they brought in to play 1st. No Matter if it was Alvarez, Carter, etc the player was a short term fix. I am glad that they brought in a competent player and we aren't hoping for Wilkins, Middlebrooks, etc to be able to play everyday. Unless the brewers brought in a young 1st via trade it doesn't matter. Next season will be about individual performances of players i think will be on the team in 3 years and I can't see Carter will be.
  23. If so, wonder if this means they at giving up on a lucroy trade. Would have thought that Wilkins was a good candidate to go. I'm ok with this as a stopgap. Could possibly turn him for prospects if he has a good 1st half.
  24. I had my bachelor party at Miller Park last September. We tailgated before and avoided having to deal with a hotel as we made sure we had enough sober drivers to pick everyone up and take everyone home. Personally i think the high end packages like suite rentals and table packages could be a waste. We had plenty to eat in the lot before and just had a few beers inside before heading to heartbreakers after.
  25. I think the posters understand this, we are trying to figure out what this means in term of future plans this offseason. I expected the team to bring in a veteran not Andy Wilkins at 1st. Now that the 40 is full, another move must be made to add Alvarez etc
