  1. the industry is in real trouble. the problem is that most people if they had their choice would rather read the morning paper on their smartphone or computer. by making it a pay site, you will definitely lose viewers which means less advertising money. its hard to convince people to pay for something that has been using it for free for so many years. also in todays time, there are tons of places to get the same info that are still free.
  2. awesome, that would only be bested if good old JR was the stadium PA announcer.
  3. i know for jsonline if you get your paper delivered you get free access to the online material
  4. Jeffrey Hammonds is another rare one, mostly because most people didn't keep it when it was given out.
  5. the brewers could dfa perez and nobody would even notice.
  6. i think of all of the players that could be there at 12, perry jones is the only one with the potential to be a star. if the bucks want to go safe and have a player they know will produce they could draft zeller and he will most likely step in and start on day 1.
  7. it looks like their big summer storyline will be AJ, Kane and Punk. I'm thinking its going to be a late 90's stephanie mcmahon / undertaker type of thing. Kanes realizes he is being used by AJ and kidnaps her forcing punk to save her.
  8. i can't prove this but i think jsonline has stopped being a pay site but just hasn't told anyone. my app nor the online site has not given me an updated on articles in months.
  9. i have tickets for tonight, if its vargas and i'm sitting inside a stadium of 30k and 90 degree heat watching him pitch its going to be a long night...
  10. FWIW Vargas is the probable pitcher tomorrow in Nashville. ugh
  11. once miller park was built it became much more difficult. when i was in grade school we used to get autographs as the opposing players either got dropped off by a taxi outside of the stadium. now they park inside. I think the easiest way to get them is to go into the stadium when the gates open and try to get players as opposing team bp goes on.
  12. i think most though kobe would be a star in the nba (never understand the trade of vlade for kobe from the kings point of view, i know he was a key player in the webber days, but imagine what he could have down in sacremento). the blazers and suns took a risk. i think the bucks need to that, but they need to eventually hit. they took a risk on Jennings and it has worked ok for them. i would hate a pick of zeller because i think the bucks will know exactly what they will get from him. i think if they take leonard, i wouldn't be hugely excited but he has much higher upside and is 2 years younger.
  13. the problem is that Kohl never let Hammond do a full rebuild job. He made the bogut trade this season to make the playoffs which was stupid because there was no way the bucks were going to get out of the first round (in hindsight they may have with Rose going down). they seem to have been picking in the 10-15 range for the last decade. It is obviously much harder to get a player that can contribute than in the top 5. Honestly the 3 picks in the last decade that i hated were Jennings, Yi and Harris. Therefore i can't really complain about the Sanders or Alexander picks since i liked them too on draft day. This draft is going to be very interesting because there will be tons of options at 12. In past years it seemed like there was a drop down right as the bucks made there pick.
  14. braves have been struggling, how about Andrelton Simmons, maybe a 1st base and SP prospect for Greinke.
  15. i don't think signing Greinke is enough to contend next year. the brewers would have to use almost all of their Free Agency budget to get him. They still will need to get a ss minimally and may have to do a complete makeover of the pen and maybe there is still a huge question mark at 1st. At this point, i'd trade Greinke. I'm sure the brewers can get a decent young shortstop, 1st baseman, and a young starter in return. If the pen can get their act together, they may be fine, since i don't see the central getting significantly better next season.
  16. i disagree, there is no point in taking a big man just to take one. If you think Leonard or Zeller will turn into atleast an good starter, than take him. If you don't, don't waste another pick. This is Hammond's fifth draft and lets just say he has shown he is no Ted Thompson on draft night. They need to get a player that can help them instead of drafting for position of need. Trading Bogut might have been short sided, and was probably dictated by Kohl in a lame attempt to back into the playoffs, but that mistake shouldn't cause JH to make another one.
  17. from what i saw he was a decent low power scorer, but doesn't have the size to be a dominant bigman. i'd rather get someone like Perry Jones, but I think Sullinger will be a decent PF in the NBA. Ersan was able to play the 4 and didn't have the size either. Sullinger has a decent jump shot too. not saying he will be an Ersan type player but it can be done. also on NBAdraft.net's site his NBA comparison in Boozer.
  18. I know pryzbilla went on to have a decent career, but was basically a backup and didn't really start playing well until he left the bucks.
  19. meyers screams alexander or pryzbilla, wouldn't want that. i'd take him over zeller though if they must draft a center. the 4 players i am focusing on is Marshall, Perry Jones 111, Terrence Jones, or Sullinger.
  20. i won't blame Narron. The only really damning thing all season was when Conrad got sent down and said that the AAA hitting coach saw something made a slight adjustment and he started raking in Nashville (which obviously that adjustment hasn't carried over here)
  21. yes i said the same thing when i saw the photo last night.
  22. does anyone who is the guy next to melvin in the red shirt way on the right? i am sure Braun felt that dressing up would ruin his national image that he is portraying, great for us that the Ax doesn't care.
  23. yeah i remember the controversy of the happy youngster a few seasons ago catching some first homer and creating a huge ruckus (want to say it was a marlin), which caused me to want to post the article. I know players always want the ball (and deserves the ball) but the only way to make it stop is to finally start cut off deals as fans get more and more greedy.
  24. i think this is the first non-wrestlemania ppv i have looked forward to since money in the bank last summer. making AJ the title match a complete question mark. also the likely results for the cena - show fight are all over the place online, but i won't post them here.
  25. interesting read. http://onmilwaukee.com/sports/articles/milestonehomeruns.html i honestly can't see why people would act so hardline upon catching a baseball. its only a baseball and really has no value unless it can be validated by mlb which i don't see them being to interested in doing so. i'd probably ask for an autographed ball in return and be done with it.
