  1. I get that, but again way more restaurants/ stores have gone up in the 20 years the new stadium was built south of the stadium than the deer district is responsible for. Which anyway, that's my argument. While public money has made the owners of the bucks and brewers rich, it has done a lot of good things including increasing the quality of life in the city and spurring development in the area.
  2. so what. Fiserv Forum has made the bucks owners RICH. Lasry sold his share of the bucks to Haslem for 3.5 BILLION. The team was sold for 550 million from Kohl. If the argument is that the taxpayers are getting sports owners rich and thats bad, then any development is a bad thing. Also if you drove down 43rd street during the County Stadium days, you will see how much development has occurred by the stadium since Miller Park / AFF was built.
  3. I get it, but its literally just the brewers stadiums that seems to be controversial around here. Bucks stadium was built with little controversy. Milwaukee / Wisconsin gives tax subsidies to companies to keep them / attract them all of the time and nobody cares or complains.
  4. Here's the problem with this statement / sentiment; People enjoy going to brewers games. The government funds parks and many other things that people enjoy doing. Its a quality of living thing. I grant you, Mark Attanasio has made a LOT of money on the taxpayers of Wisconsin, but for whatever reason about 2.5 million people each summer go to brewers games. The government is building a new museum for 240 million dollars. Contractors will be making a lot of money on this project, there is no complaining on that. We spent 128 million on the Hop that nobody uses, crickets. I can go on.
  5. correct. I think a lot of people think its 1994 again and there will be a sales tax increase. It seems like this bill is very similar to what the helped build Fiserv Forum. I don't understand the amount of public outcry.
  6. Reading through these comments, it seems like the brewers / legislature / governor has done a horrible job communicating what this bill entails. From my understanding, there will be no new tax increases to pay for these repairs. The majority of the money would be from the projected income taxes that the players pay. I'd be fine with a ticket surcharge to make up any difference, but it sounds like the repairs can be paid for with allocating the tax revenue that the brewers garnish rather than adding an additional tax.
  7. First of all I’ll admit that the following trade in a vacuum was to the other guys advantage. i had 5 starting caliber rbs in jt, breece hall, Kenneth walker, Pacheco and swift, my wrs have struggled. Watson is finally healthy but has a rookie wr, Pacua has maybe been figured out and it’s not great that Kupp is back and Adam’s is hurt and has bad quarterbacking, so I traded hall for Metcalf. The rest of the season rankings are in halls favor but I think he can put up some decent numbers and balance my roster a but. Thoughts?
  8. First AP poll out today, MU checks in at #5. This is the highest they have ever been ranked since March of 1978.
  9. I hope you are right, I just saw lawmakers opposed to it. I guess we will see on Tuesday and hopefully we can all celebrate it being over with
  10. There is no indication that it will pass or not on Tuesday. There has been support and opposition on both sides. I think most of the money is earmarked towards the roof. My guess is amenities like heat were removed to reduce the total cost, but that’s a guess. I would imagine the beer district is dead. Sell outs use the every space in the lot so removing 800 seems foolish. Also the brewers would have to agree to lose the revenue from this spots. personally I think the part of the stadium that the fans see is fine, but I’m sure the roof needs a massive upgrade after 23 seasons of use. The brewers have already committed to a new scoreboard in 2024 on their dime.
  11. either way, its a large decision that the team needs to make he would account for about 8% of the brewers payroll to not pitch. If Arnold and Woody can work something out to avoid arbritation this year and get a prove it deal in 2025, I'm on board.
  12. They could not offer him arbitration, thus in affect releasing him.
  13. It does sound promising, but until the last i is dotted I won’t have a celebratory drink. regarding the all star game, I think that ship sailed. I remember complaining about serving hotdogs and brats in the media game. Milwaukee is an awesome city in the summer, but I’d imagine cities with similar aged parks like Chicago or Pittsburgh would be more desirable. Also I know Cleveland is doing renovations this summer, so they would be a candidate. There really hasn’t been that many new parks this decade so that’s probably not the priority it was in the 00’s. off topic, but the it’s the bucks that deserve an all star game.
  14. When was the last manager that the fans actually liked? Yost, Roenicke, Macha, Lopes all had distractors. I don't know you if you can put Garner in that category because expectations were never that large under him. Managers make mistakes and its easy to play manager sitting on your sofa with a beer. The brewers never achieved the ultimate goal under Counsell (if he is indeed gone), but they had success not really seen. I'm expecting a rebuild starting next season with some starters traded and a new manager. Also the pool of up and coming managers seems to be light, so those celebrating the end of Counsell, should be careful what they wish for.
  15. I really never get too upset or excited about sports anymore. I enjoy watching and was disappointed with how things went, but life goes on. Guess its a product of getting older and going to games for 35 years.
  16. I hate the London games too, makes it hard to set a lineup with all of the game time decisions
  17. @jerichoholicninjai agree that Cook is the player to sit.
  18. If he wants to sign you have to do it. It’s like when they gave Middleton and Lopez new contracts last offseason, probably not the best business decision but still it makes sense to do it. It would be cool to keep Giannis for his entire career. Even though that’s not likely even if he gets a second super max
  19. I don't think this is cut throat, more just trying to keep your pitchers rested for a meaningless series.
  20. Bucks already selling dame jerseys looks like beauchamp needs to find a new number. also saw Giannis has been offered 3/186 within the last week. Wonder if this makes it more likely that he takes it or still plans on waiting for next offseason?
  21. Thanks, both of these guys hopefully never make it to my starting roster unless needed for a bye, Whomever I keep will probably have to go to activate JT once he is off PUP anyway. Also you are right, they will probably go for next months flavor of the month after the next injury or breakout.
  22. @worm81I'd second Sanders and Jones.
  23. thanks johnson was my gut. I also think unless Johnson goes off on Sunday he may be getable next week when I drop my other defense that I'm playing this week while I stash the Bills (if i get the claim).
  24. I appreciate your insight. I think Johnson will start getting more looks, maybe even starting this weekend. plus with a rookie qb, not sure what tank will do moving forward
