    Nobody knows how the roster will look in April, but what is wrong if you used the money you were going to pay Hader and Renfroe in 2023 and signed somebody that you feel gives you a better chance for you to win in 2023 to a 1 yr deal, knowing that you have depth in you pen and outfield corp. Yes they may turn around and sell the farm away, but we don’t know that. Also the brewers did sign Yelich to a big money multi-year deal and bit them in the behind. Sometimes 1 year deals benefit both the player and the club since it limits the risk on the club.

    Junk is the only guy in the top 30, and he is 26. Other 2 guys are mid 20’s triple A pitchers. Not an exciting haul, but since he only had one year or control not surprising. Maybe all 3 can help in the pen next year though

    I am also surprised on Robinson. To be honest, Uribe doesn't have numbers that stand out neither. Yes you have to use a 40 man roster spot to protect them, but they can easily be outrighted.

    I don't know about that. players drafted a lot higher than the 3rd flop each and every year. (I will say though cutting a day 2 pick in year 2 is very rare). There was pressure to take a WR to appease A-Rod and the board didn't work out right. Nobody knows how much they liked him over just he was the best WR on the board and wanted to get one day 2 so they traded up. no way to know

    they changed the coach last offseason, it didn't help. I think its a personnel / philosophy issue vs a coaching issue.

    I am surprised they did this and this may be an indication that ownership is going to go all in for 2023 before the window is completely shut with this group.

    Drafting Love was clearly an error, and Gutey has been chasing that mistake by making one after another. I am oK with keeping picks to try get some good players next year. Looks like they will be drafting in the top 1/2 of the draft too.

    this year has been frustrating, i'm 4th in a league of 10 in TP and I will be 1-7 unless Chubb has about 4 TD's tonight. It happens.

    @nate82 I think you are right, when i heard the news, I assumed that a search for a GM would start, but since that wasn’t stated, It looks like that is not the case. I would imagine Arnold would have both titles, or Tod Johnson would get promoted to GM. Stearns was clearly doing both jobs, so if Arnold has both titles, I think they will fine.

    Was there any clarity on if a GM will be hired to replace Arnold or is he running the whole show?

    The good news is that I don’t think it will be a house cleaning since Arnold was involved in ever move to build the organization. I think it was clear that Stearns was coming back after his contract his up. MA can now get his new baseball operations leadership team in place a year early. Anyone that thinks he will do a good or bad job, has no basis since nobody really knows what he was involved in during his time here.

    I agree, its a huge risk. They have to win it all this year really. I looked at his contract. He can opt out after the season and his cap hitspikes from 690k to 12MM. I am not familiar with their cap situation but that may be hard to absorb.

    Since they are in the iron district, seems like they are going to do something like Iron, Ironmen, etc. Call me a pessissmist, but I just don't know how well this will work. Its great that MU is getting rid of Valley Fields for their program, but I think its going to be hard to get decent attendance once everyone has seen the stadium. The Rampage, Wave, MU / UWM soccer all struggle / struggled for fans. I know this is higher level soccer and there is a niche of soccer fans around that will love this, but if they play during the summer there is so much to do. It will only take away from festivals, brewers, etc.

    I didn’t realize it affected sling too. I dropped direct tv stream on Sunday and went with YouTube tv until brewers season starts back up. You really can’t get a service that you need to sign up for long term because you don’t know what you will have tomorrow. EDIT: looks like their was an agreement to continue service while they work on a contract

    thats the issue. He has a 7 game test to see if he is the Head Coach, with a team that isn't that great. If they want to keep him, its a 5 year contract. If they don't, he is gone. Its going to be hard to get a true test of his abilities. I guess if you see some improvement, you keep him.
