BONDS HIT A 3 RUN HOMER! 1 RUN GAME!

Litmus test if you are a diehard brewer fan.. I am actually rooting for the game to go extra's and Bonds to hit two more homers so the cubs lose and he doesn't play the entire weekend series.

If you would have told me before the game that Hart and Hardy would get the day off, Braun and Fielder would go a combined 1 for 9, and the Brewers would score 10 runs, I would have asked for some of whatever you were smoking. Good times!

Is this the longest outing of Wise's career?

I say we get a lead in the first game against the Giants and give Barry some meatballs with no one on base so they take him out for the game and the rest of the series.

Seriously, are we stretching out Wise to become the new once-a-week long man? Seems to me he used to pitch in longer stretches, but Yost has recently seemed allergic to allowing relievers multiple innings, with the exception of one designated guy...which used to be Villy.

Maybe Villy is now officially the Seventh Inning Man and Wise is the BurbaHelling.

Either way, this is awesome. If the Cubs lose, we pick up a game. If the Cubs win, San Fran will be "flat" tomorrow for sure, having staged three rallies, gotten two homers from Bonds, and still lost. Leave it all on the field, boys!

Wise is going to finish this one?

What does that say about Parra?

I don't get it -- last night in a tight ballgame, we trot out Balfour to make his debut. And today in a blow out, we use up our 7th inning guy for 3 innings?

I know that there are rumors he's getting traded, but we still could have given Parra a taste of the bigs.

Bonds is heating up just in time to come in here. Uh oh!

Won't matter. There is no way in he-ll they let him hit that HR anywhere but San Fran. And especially not in Milwaukee of all places.

You know about Wise...

He does not throw that hard.

So 53 pitches for him is a lot different than 53 pitches for a guy like Turnbow.

Yeah, after Bonds hits the game winner today, he'll get on a plane to San Fran. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/wink.gif

So, what's this business about Wise being traded for Dunn? Rumor?

Maybe Yost just wanted to use one pitcher the rest of the game and decided that since he trusts CV more as the 7th innning guy and would probably need him soon, he would go with the next long reliever to finish off the game. Since the usual guy (YoGa) was the starter, he went with Wise who used to be a starter.
