The Crew's giving us nothing to talk about. I just have to type to keep my hands off of the beer and nachos. Gotta pace myself http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/wink.gif

OK, leadoff runner, here we go

I'm not sure why Graffy wasn't bunting with a runner at 2nd and nobody out. I thought he was adept at bunting. Big deal if you take the bat out of his hands. Secure the run and the tie (so you don't have to play from behind) before the pitcher's spot is due.

OK, has anyone noticed how our crowds are sounding more like Cubs fans? You know, cheering for ground outs and fly outs, like everything's got a chance to go long. It's been noted here before how Cubs fans scream for every crack of the bat because most of the fans are just there to socialize and only half watch the game, muchless any other games.

Theory: as the bandwagon grows, we're going to hear more of this. Just a hunch, but it seems to be getting worse.

With a slumping Jenkins and Gwynn batting behind you, I can understand why.

rluz, just seems curious, as you normally don't go pointing out slumps. Just wishing we had another option to ride a hot hand?

Also, with Claudio at 62 pitches, man I could see us needing Parra in the 5th. Sadly, a friend told me he'd be there, and I predicted we'd see both Balfour and Parra tonight.

I'm not complaining about Vargas as our #5 starter, but is it just me or is he almost unbearable to watch. When he gets guys on base, it takes him forever to make a pitch.

i'd be willing to bet $50 that Prince is a faster runner than J.J.

I was thinking how JJ looked like he was running in place on that play to third

What the heck is up with Brewer's fans booing their own team all the time? It's really bugging me. Is this the price to pay for bandwagon jumpers? There have been at lease 10-15 times they have booed for some reason or other. Seriously. I've been going to Brewers games for 20 years and before the last few years, the only time I remember the crowed booing is When whatshisface got the game winning hit to end Molitor's hitting streak in 87 and in 2003 after Wes Helms made two errors on two consecutive plays.

I think so. We'll probably see a lot more waves, too

Rick Manning. That was so wrong. I liked Rick.

I haven't been following the game too much yet tonight, but I've checked in on the Gametracker once an inning. Every single time I've looked, Arizona has had a guy on 2nd. I do see it wasn't all Vargas' fault, though, as Hardy committed an error in the first.

I'll give Vargas one thing. He allows a ton of base runners, but he can get out of jams with the best of them.

Yeah I have been on the fence about Vargas, but you can't have a starter just go out there and not be economical with his pitches. I can understand attacking and getting hit a little, but his approach is driving me mad. I have to imagine Ned something to him about it, but it doesn't seem to work. Powell seems a little perturbed about (not that it matters).

Way to go, Tony!

I believe he has more home runs than Rickie Weeks. Yep, our backup second baseman has more home runs than our young prodigy.

Weeks really needs to pick it up. When he plays, that is.

Tough call. With CV's pitch count you are at best going to only get one more inning out of him anyway. Might be worth pinch hitting?

Edit: Ned's vodoo magic pays off?

Rick Manning, yeah..sorry. When I said I've been going to games for 20 years..I was 6 when I started going to the games.

They booed because they didn't send Hardy on Fielder's double....but it was so easy to see that he would have been dead meat at the plate.. and then they really booed after Johnny flied out.. Are these people even watching the game? We are in the best position as a team in 25 years and they friggin boo? come one!

I just saw on Gametracker that Vargas singled (sweet). Can someone who is watching the game tell me how Gwynn didn't score from second? Was it a bloop that Gwynn had to hold up on in case it was caught?

Thanks!

According to Jim the outfield was playing rather shallow.

got the lead now, lets hold it. That was a very nice little rally, we'll get more before the games over.

I really wish I could get in the chat. but the IGT will work for now
