only the Brewers can get only 1 run out of that inning

With the way Braun, Fielder, and Hall went at it, we were lucky to get that one run.

even Doug Melvin looks a little depressed about our offenese right now

5-3 would have been a hell of a lot more interesting.

I hate the Reds almost as much as the Cubs, because this is just the kind of game that, over the past 2 or 3 seasons, they would win and the Brewers would lose, if the Brewers were in the lead here. I want this team to be able to win some games that they absolutely do not deserve.

though I never saw a bad jenkins on pace for 38 HR's. and 112 RBI's.

Nor a .661 OPS?

Just pointing out that it isn't like he has 0 HR's and no rbi's right now.. plus I like OPS as much as the next guy but last time I looked they still keep score by runs as in Runs batted in and home RUN

'You've just got to get things started -- HIT & RUN!' ... whoops

after a few waste pitches, watches a fastball right down the middle for strike 3

Down the middle -- are you watching the game, or watching Gameday? That was 90+ at the knees on the inside corner.

was it earlier in this IGT, or maybe yesterday's that someone said that Kendall's defense didn't impress them. I for one have been very impressed, (admittedly I am a big Kendall backer though)

Strike 'em out, throw 'em out! Hopefully that pumps a little more life into this team...still plenty of ABs left.

It was at the knees but it was down the middle

I disagree.. that was on the inside corner maybe even off an inch or so.. it hit the mitt but Molina shifted inside.

Yea, that pitch was not down the middle.

I for one have been very impressed

Count me in too -- Kendall's looked very quick & athletic tonight, with some solid throws. Imo, Melvin & Co. +1

A batter's job is to maximize the team's runs scored. I'm glad that Braun ahs been able to knock some runs in while slumping that's only half the equation.

We need to save Counsell for something? I'm always so confused.

In case we get a lead, he has to be able to come in to play SS, so JJ can play LF & Braun can man 3B... duuuh

Just some comic relief, but remember when there were some people on this forum who were CONVINCED that Chris Capuano was the real ace of this team? I am not knocking Chris or trying to kick him while he's down. Just an example of how these games can make you a little crazy once in a while.

This year I wish our batter's job was to not swing at the curveball low and away... the Team OPS would jump 150 points.

After that inning Wainwright's season ERA now sits at 2.86. He's quietly had a very good start to the year...he's probably one of the few Cards pitchers that I'd expect to keep pitching well throughout the year.

We must protect our Shouse!

EDIT: Ned Yost... wow... Shouse to face Pujols... I have nothing to say.. only silent rage

Wainwright is a young promising pitcher that doesn't get the credit he deserves. People don't realize that he posted a 2.71 ERA after the all-star break last year.
