Gross or Gwynn works for me. Both have been swinging hot bats

Prior to Gwynn's nice game on Sunday, he had only 1 hit in his previous 10 AB. It only takes a 2 hit game to label a batter "hot" and justify putting him in the lineup?

I think Ned should focus more on maximizing the ABs of the guys who are going to be the better player day in and day out than trying to chase the mostly mythical "hot-hand".

I'd be fine with a boring game...I have about 12 papers due in the next week and a half. The last thing I need to be doing is following a game pitch by pitch. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/laugh.gif

That's a pretty small sample to be quoting him as not "hot". Why don't we up the sample size to his last twenty at-bats previously, to which he his hitting .350 (7/20). Then again you just can't discount a good game because it proves your point so lets add in the last game as well so then he is at 9/23 which is .391.

Just playing devil's advecate here, as I do actually dislike Gwynn greatly.

1 darn run and people already say this.

Actually, it's several sub-par outings in a row that are causing people to say this. This isn't a good start. He got out of it with only a run allowed, but he didn't appear to be at all sharp by that inning's work.
