Yeah, I just saw this story. I didn't think he would be great in Detroit, but I never envisioned a stop in Lakeland.

For Willis to come back and be at least productive in the majors he needs to change his mechanics. I was watching the Tigers game last night on ESPN. The announcers last night were talking about how he wasn't griping the ball correctly. I believe he needs to change his delivery to become effective once again as a starting pitcher. Maybe Willis will get the clue this time from him being sent down to A ball.

In AAA and AA they care about winning games and will pull him to accommodate. In A he can pitch for as long as he likes, and he shouldn't need to come out because of trouble unless he's walking dudes. But I can you imagine the story of the A ball hitter who jacks one on Willis?

Pitchers get sent down to the level they have the right instruction at. Not really that big of a deal, especially if they think he's injured. Sheets pitched in Rookie ball in 2006 if you remember.

Well I gambled on Willis in an AL Bid fantasy team. This didn't work. Same with the Big Hurt. I picked him up as a bench player.

yeah, on the surface it looks like an insult, but to get him throwing strikes it makes sense. but then it'd be hilarious if he got lit up in his first single-A game.
