Just as I was about to say Braun appears unable to figure out Bailey today, he gets a hit with a risp. Nice approach with two strikes going the opposite way.

Did Braun and Bailey ever play together? FSN's shot before the commercial showed Braun appear to joke around with Bailey as they left the field.

If I'm in Ned Yost's seat, McClung or Villenueva are getting warmed up right now in the bullpen - I don't want another 5th inning/3rd time through the order getting away from Suppan, I don't care what his pitch count is

Brian is disgusted by all this fraternizing between Braun and Bailey...I personally don't see the big deal.

This has been a pretty fun team to watch the past couple of days, aside from Suppan's pitching. It's great to see them having so much fun on the field, especially after what happened Monday night.

quick question: why on earth is Counsell playing every darned game? We get it. He's a good fielder. Meanwhile he has an OPS of .651 while Branyan is rotting on the bench with a .921 OPS. It'd be nice if Ned could use his brain just once in a while.

Yost overheard Branyan saying NASCAR is for undereducated redneck hillbillies.

Nope he said "The Vols are going whip'em some Dawgs this Year!"

is that all counsell can do is ground out softly and maybe once in a while get a seeing eye single. Wow what batting prowess!!

Hey, he's moving teh runner over.

Braun!

I'm so glad we have a 3 mill/year sacrifice hitter.

Nice to see Jolbert Cabrera is owning our gritty, veteran, playoff-experienced pitcher.

Everybody owns him.... except, I guess Atlanta

Wow, thank you Joey Votto.

Also, why does just about every announcer claim the job of the #2 hitter is to advance the runner? Not every team has Craig Counsell batting 2nd.

While I'd like to see some more muscle too, Counsell certainly made a big play yesterday and saved us two runs. Maybe Hall makes that play, but not Russell. Granted, it's one play and one game, but his defense has been solid. They are giving Hardy the day off here...it's not like we have any other options at short. Although batting him 2nd just because he's playing short defies logic.
