On SportsCenter today... Tim Kirkjian (sp?) Said that the Brewers won't be able to afford Carlos Lee. He all but guaranteed that carlos would be traded.

his driving in runs is pretty much the reason he's on the trading block..

 

Great player = huge contract

 

huge contract = money needed to pay that contract

 

Brewers = small market = no money

 

Carlos Lee = Trade Block

I saw that too... he may be right, but when he mentioned the fact that we traded Overbay because he would some day command a high salary and didn't even mention Prince, i discounted everything he said.

Yeah, good point. But it's still a scary thought. Carlos is really impotant to this team. I just keep pointing to the fact that if we can afford to let Sheets "Heal" at about the same $, that Carlos does to play everyday...

There's no excuse that the Brewers can;t afford to cough up a few extra bucks to keep a star.
