Why give up a batter and an out against Wainright in order to see that?

Because Ned, like about 25-28 other big-league managers (depending on the situation), seems to manage by the book a lot.

The book is nice, because it removes any real responsibility from the manager. He doesn't have to make any really tough decisions. Just go by the book. Do nothing unconventional or out of the ordinary. Formula managing. Drives me nuts.

Wearing my heart on my sleeve since birth. Hopefully, it's my only crime.

Having Cirillo bunt Clark to 2nd in a 3-3 game with nobody out was such an easy decision, you'd have to be a completely clueless manager to let him swing away.

You move Clark to 2nd and hope Jenkins or Lee can win it with a single.

I would have done the same thing, including making him get it down after he had 2 strikes on him.

And if I had it to do over. I'd do it 100 times out of 100.

WHOOO!!!

Carlos Lee with the grab at the warning track!

My heart started going a mile a minute when I heard "hit well to left field, this is a high fly ball" but Carlos makes the grab.

Now it's time for El Caballo to win it with the bat.

Way to work out of it Kolb/JDLR!!!

When it was 3-0 on Encarnacion with Pujols on deck, Eckstein on 1st and nobody out, I thought that was probably going to be all she wrote.
