Im sorry, but I have played a lot of baseball and bunting a fastball in the strike zone is easy, especially if you have the hand-eye coordination of a major league baseball player. It is easy for me so it should be easy for Kendall.

Nice win!

That is why major league players get bunts down almost 100% of the time on the first pitch and why managers generally keep the bunt on with 2 strikes since the odds of striking out are so astronomically low... oh yeah, they don't get them down anywhere near that amount. It isn't nearly as simple as you are making it out to be.

Nice win, Crew! Good on ya, Soup!

This one seemed to have late-innings heartbreaker written all over, esp. after stranding the two on with no outs in the 8th.

But who cares about the bunt, the important part is we won and the Cubs just blew a 4 run lead in the 9th against the Astros.

I agree, and it goes to show how far the bullpen has come.

Hoffman 9/9. Just awesome. I know he will blow some saves at some point but being confident when the closer comes in is an awesome feeling. Something I couldn't say about Gagne or late season Torres last season at all.

The Crew has played 1 game and been outscored 2-1 since they landed in St. Louis and they're 1-0. Awesome.
Interesting how that works out. Great break to have Hoffman fully available after last night's washout.

Didn't get to hear the whole WTMJ broadcast, so I'll ask: Is YoGa slated for Monday's rescheduled game?

You can say what you want about a 1-0 game being boring (I know most people on this site wouldn't say so but plenty of casuals would), but I'm pretty confident we'll never again see a 1-0 win with Jeff Suppan starting again.

I really want to know how much Jason Kendall had to do with that great performance. I hear the "calls a great game" cliche all the time from the TV folks. I want to rip him so bad for his failed bunt and overall lack of offense but does this happen without him?
