This feels like one of those days where a two-run deficit might as well be 20. But I'll try to hope for better...in between a zillion tasks at work.

Pujols disrespectful? How about not running out grounders or pop-ups? How about routinely admiring HRs or fly outs for that matter? I can only imagine how much time he spends in front of a mirror admiring his greatness.

Ryan's clown costume is a mystery as well.

Manny has a curveball today. IMO that is the difference between good Manny and bad Manny. It seems that too often he throws nothing but fastballs early in the count in order to set up the splitter. Then when the hitters start sitting on the fastball he tries to nibble. We know how that goes. Today he has had the Cardinal hitters off balance. Speaking of Albert, he hit a walk-off about a week ago and crossed home plate about 3 days later. It is a good thing he respects the game.

Way to Go McGehee, and catch on fire right when I sit you in Fantasy Baseball. Seriously though its good to see a lead in the 5th inning in an afternoon game.

hmm, Vargas against Pujols? Can this possibly end well?

Hope so . . .

Vargas versus His Royal Highness, the Most High Lord Pujols with the bases clogged. A real deja vu feel to this one.

His Majesty getting the special strike zone of course.

And Claudio wins.

Huge spot to get out of right there. Hopefully they can tack on a couple more runs to avoid any repeats of that nervous inning.

I'm sure more than I saw his royal Pujol admire his pop-fly ground rule double down the line yesterday. He looked like he sat in the box for a good 3 seconds before deciding what to do.

Ohhhh, finish them, Trevor! If it comes down to DeRosa facing you, it'll be like my maddening dream from the other night come true.

Edit: I guess it won't probably be DeRosa, will it?

Another edit: Hah! Siddown, Albert!

I know it was meaningless, but that was a really nice comeback win, especially striking out Pujols as the walkoff winning run.

Avoided the sweep at the least.

(And at the top of the game, out of anger in the 1st I demanded Davey Nelson tell me why on Earth I should follow this team the rest of the way!)
