Manager Ken Macha noted last week how rookie shortstop Alcides Escobar has torn up left-handed pitching since coming to the majors (11 for 18, .611). That wasn't good enough to get him in the lineup tonight because J.J. Hady is a career .381 hitter (8 for 21, one HR) against Cubs lefty Tom Gorzelanny.

 

Here is the Brewers' lineup for the first of three games against the Cubs at Miller Park:

I think bucks2281 means that since Butler is pitching out of the bullpen tonight, it probably means he won't get a start. Oh well, at least he got into a game. And nice to see a Gamel sighting.

Yep, what wibadgers23 said. And I wrote that when the bases were loaded w/ no outs. I figured Macha wouldn't like what he saw and would choose the "veteran" over Butler to take Gallardo's starts.

Sigh, reason number umpty-zillion why I hate the Cubs: nights like this (despite the Brewers' contributions to their fate tonight).
