Both Josh Butler and Adam Heether have two options remaining, meaning they can be sent down as often as necessary in 2011 and 2012 as well.

That's too bad, but i expect we will see Butler back in a Brewer uni before the season is up.

It looks like we will have an all lefty bench now. With Heether optioned and Treanor traded, that leaves us with Counsell, Gerut, Inglett, Edmonds, & Kottaras...

Butler's option was voided because of his injury (think Mat Gamel's situation), and he was instead placed on the DL, where like Gamel he'll accrue service time.

I am a little surprised something wasn't mentioned earlier. Butler was hurt and sort of lost in the shuffle this spring. We have had little or news on him.

Butler's injury is a big reason why the Brewers just can't cut Suppan. Right now their options are basically down to Estrada and a bunch of guys with little experience above A+.

Wonder if the Brewers realized on their own they needed to void Butler's option (he once again has all three, although surely one will be used once he's healthy), or if Butler's agent appealed the option, and said get my player back on the 25-man DL with both its salary and service time implications. Good for the agent if so.
