Boston Releases Scott Schoeneweis

Per MLBTR..

His numbers are terrible this year. Good move by Doug to release him. I didn't like this move at the time, but he saw something that I didn't.

He's left handled, he'll still catch on somewhere. The life of a LOOGY.

Another team releasing him because his wife died. Clearly, MLB is out to get him

Sorry. Wasn't intended to get laughs; I thought it was a pretty crappy thing of him to accuse the Brewers of when he left Milwaukee.

Agreed. His (Schoeneweis) comments about the Brewers organization were ludicrous. I wonder what he is saying about the Sox.

I think those comments were taken out of context (I hope) but I agree he shouldn't have said it at the time. His numbers in ST were terrible and he had little chance of making the team anyway. He should have packed his bags and been thankful for the oportunity which he failed to take advantage of.

I'll admit, I wondered the same as soon as I saw the topic of this thread yesterday.

I'd like to think that either Scott's comments about the Brewers were taken out of context, or he'll look back on them eventually and wonder what he was thinking, then realize it was a consequence of his very rough patch of 2009-2010 (for his sake, hopefully not far beyond '10).

Remember: the Brewers never panic like you do.
