am really surprised he didn't end up leading the Cubs to bigger things. read one article that question whether Ryne Sandberg could be the next manager.

I thought it was in the bank that Sandberg was getting the gig. Hope Bob Denier gets the hitting coach job. Maybe Scott Sanderson as the pitching coach?

Given his history with their organization, I'd be shocked if Nats 3b Coach (and former Brewers Rookie of the Year) Pat Listach isn't interviewed for the job.

 

As much as I dislike the Cubs, not a whole lot of that carries over to Piniella.

what Piniella's time with the Cubs shows is no matter who the manager is the team is only as good as it's players.

I just pray they don't hire him to be in the broadcast booth for the playoffs again. His voice was like finger nails on a chalkboard and his "insight" was miserable. Made me pine for Joe Morgan.
