There's really no excuse to get picked off there (technically caught stealing). There's two outs so he's going to be running on contact so he doesn't need a big secondary lead.

Why not leave Axford in? He only threw 14 pitches and there is an off day tomorrow. I know he pitched yesterday, but if it took him 14 pitches to retire the first batter in the 9th would he have been pulled? No.

Yep, I also think it was mostly because he wanted to get Hart out after 9 innings. But also I'm assuming he wants Mitre more than 1 inning, so he does know how to do it right.

I'm not blaming Mitre here. RRR said himself he was rusty last night so why would you run him out there today in a tie game in the 10th. I see absolutely no reason why Ax could not have stayed in the game. If we go on to lose, for me its on Roenicke.
