Why is Wilson pinch hitting?

I imagine its some sort of "everybody gets to play" type thing like in kindergarten

at least he gets on lol

Pitcher spot will bat so you bat Lucroy there, maybe with a RISP, and then swap out Yuni in the bottom of the ninth. A fella can hope so anyway.

Edit: or maybe not. Wierd.

Wow. Horrible call. He was out.

On another note someone needs to take Wilson to task for not running that bunt out. He would have been easily safe if he was busting it down the line.

It's a shame that Wolf can't complete the game, but I understand the situation. Especially since he would have had to sit for 20 minutes while LaRussa argues. No sympathy by the way.

Hahaha, what a bad call. Oh man.

The play: Albert gets pulled off the bag by the throw to first, but with plenty of time - he reaches back with the tip of his toe and hits the back edge of the bag (but clearly on it, not even against it), a step later J. Wilson is called safe.

Hey, it worked! I'm really kind of surprised that RRR PH with Wilson, then asked him to bunt, especially with Wolf on deck.

Scratch that: Lucroy on deck. I want to see some Badger Mutual Insurance Runs here.

The move makes sense now ... he was intending on pulling Wolf the entire time so he pinch hits a guy who can get the bunt down and the best PH option then will bat with a runner in scoring position... had to use an extra guy to get it done but nice chess work by Roenicke. I like it.

So, basically, RRR was setting up that inning to give Luc and Hart AB's with a runner at second.

I guess I see it, but I still think it was worth letting Wolf at least open the ninth.
