Chris Volstad

5-12, 5.13

Volstad had one of his finest performances in a while. The right-hander still hasn't won since July 10, but he allowed one run in seven innings in a no-decision in Washington. He lost to the Brewers on June 4, giving up three runs in seven innings.

Yovani Gallardo

17-10, 3.60

Gallardo is getting hot at a good time. He matched his career high with 12 strikeouts in a Sept. 11 win over the Phillies and set a new mark with 13 strikeouts against the Reds last weekend.

After 3/4 of a work day mixed with lots of thinking about baseball, I'll be leaving soon for Milwaukee. I'll paraphrase what seemed to work in 2008:

Dear Brewers:

You know what's within your reach. You can get at least halfway there tonight. Have fun, and good luck.

Best wishes,

hawing

Remember: the Brewers never panic like you do.

With apologies for the double post, how weird is it that the Mets, Cubs and Marlins have such bearing on the Brewers' late-September results again?

Brewers need to average 31,024 fans/game this homestand to reach 3 mil. I would think that's a lock.

They sold the 3 millionth ticket awhile ago, so ya, I'd say lock. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/wink.gif

They have to end this division tonight. The thought of having to watch them clinch on WMLW tomorrow night is frightening...a picture I can't see and they would probably cut the game off on DirecTV before us out-of-towners can enjoy the champagne party. Big boy time.

I'm watching TV and just glanced at this without really reading it. I thought it said, "After 3/4 of a work day with lots of mixed drinks..."

Wouldn't mind seeing a Cardinal and Brewer win tonight since I'm going to the game tomorrow http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/wink.gif

Braves up 3-0, now top of the 2nd

Nats announcers say insane statistic that Tim Hudson 143-2 in his career when his team scores 3+ runs.

That can't be right? That's crazy.

The Marlins are going to stirke out a bunch. That's my prediction for tonight.

Maybe it's 143-2 in games he's been spotted a 3+ run lead.

Maybe. I thought it sounded like a ridiculous stat. This would make a little more sense. Or they could just be completely wrong. Or I could need my ears checked.

Where was Yuni on that? If he didnt even move an inch for it.....
Good question. He wasn't even in the camera frame although he clearly should have been at least somewhere in the neighborhood of the ball. I thought it looked foul. Inning over.

Ueck and Corey literally giggling as they discuss Pujols' contract demands.

On Furcal: "He was talking about how much he likes St. Louis. I don't think he likes St. Louis very much anymore."

Yeah Im not saying he should have caught it, although some MLB SS may have been able to, but he might have been able to get there before Braun did

Random observation, Corey laughs at Uecker way too much, it seems phony since he laughs as if he just heard the best joke of his life every time Ueck makes any joke. Like hes trying to suck up to him, we get it, Uecker is funny. He says plenty of things that evoke actual laughter, just not every time he opens his mouth.

I replayed it, it dove pretty quickly, I don't think he would have came close to that. Not a snowball's chance in hell he catches that over the head. It was barely fair. It hit the line. Had a good pause on the edge. Tough luck play, but Braun should have been behind the ball to stop it from hitting the tarp.
