Season Tickets Arrive

Posted

I was totally caught off-guard by my tickets coming today, normally people are talking about it beforehand.

One thing I noticed, I do a fan choice pack, which means I never get the same seats, but this year my tickets are spread all over the place, way more than usual. They're still in the category I paid for, but sometimes they're on the first base side, sometimes third base, and some even behind the plate, which I never get. I assume they had a big increase in ticket packages this year.

Their demand for tickets has gone up, they've also held out a ton on releasing tickets to fans -- every 20 game pack still has ~200 unreleased seats which they hope to sell by opening day.

As I found out a couple years back, the fan's choice doesn't lock you in for seats, so every person who gets a fixed pack (10 or 20 or 81 games) gets better seats than you do.

I haven't received my 20-game pack in the mail yet but I just logged in to My Brewers Tickets and was very disappointed to see I have section 436 obstructed view seats for Opening Day. I guess it comes with the demand, but still seems sort of crappy that my 6-year old account would get obstructed seats

Full season tickets aren't being shipped until next week.

I thought about starting a Ticketwatch thread earlier this week but figured no one would see season tickets before next week at soonest. But then you have pretendastronaut's experience, which will now have me on high alert for the mail delivery from today until they finally arrive. Thanks a bunch! ;)

I think it's safe to assume that the interest in 2012 season tickets increased at least as much as it did after the 2008 postseason. I'd have to look it up, but I think 2009 was the last year we got a fan's choice package - and although our family section preference kept us in the same section for all 20 games that year, we moved around the section more than had ever been the case before. By mid-09 we had resolved to switch to a preset plan for 2010 and have done so ever since.

It is nice to not have to wonder what seats we'll get for each game anymore, but that doesn't mean I won't geek out mightily whenever the box arrives. Last year our two 20-packs arrived on March 15.

436? Probably the foul pole as your obstruction.

That sucks. I got 2nd row loge for Opening Day with my 20-pack. Pretty happy about that.

Silly question, but as this is my first year buying season tickets (20 pack) do the tickets come via USPS or via Fedex? My friend thought it was Fedex but he couldnt remember.

My 20 pack came via USPS. Playoff tickets came via fedex. Although I did the choose my own pack, so I don't have the fancy ticket book.

The last few years, our regular-season tickets have been delivered via USPS Priority Mail. Today, we got the upgrade vouchers (our reward for renewing early), with a letter indicating that most season tickets will begin to be mailed the week of March 12.

I just got my upgrade vouchers, and I'm wondering if I can only apply them to my season tickets? Or if I can use them for additional tickets I may purchase?

I'm not certain this answers your question, but last year we used some for season tickets we exchanged for another date. So the seats we wound up with were not our season location, nor were they for a game in our package. But season tickets were still involved, and I think that might be a requirement - otherwise how do the Brewers know from/to what level to upgrade you?

I'm not a ticket rep, so check with yours, and if you care to, follow up here with the answer.

I got my upgrade vouchers as well, but don't really know how to use 'em. Do you just bring the game you want to upgrade along with the voucher to the box office or do you do it by mail? Or will either one work? This is my first time getting them.

I do it through my ticket rep. Just give him a call, tell him which game I want to upgrade, then I mail him the tickets I'm upgrading, and he mails me the upgraded tickets. That seems like the easiest way to do for me. It's the only way I've ever done it.

Yeah, either mail or visiting the ticket office works. On game days/nights, go to window 5, which is designated for season ticket customers. Because we don't live in Milwaukee, we often call or email our ticket rep first, then arrange to bring the tickets to exchange to window 5 next time we are in town for a game. That way we can take our time on the phone choosing new seats, rather than hold up the window 5 line trying to decide. (Not going to lie; I wish more customers would do that.)

For what it's worth, in the course of doing business at window 5 last year, we were offered a free seat upgrade twice - both times from terrace to field seats. For one game in 2010 we saw our ticket rep on duty at window 5, stopped over to say hello (there was no line) and he gave us a couple of $10.00 concession vouchers. Random, but nice.

Got my ticket package today. I'm a little disappointed at how far out I've been moved. We had front row of the Terrace Box right behind home plate the past 2 or 3 years and now most of our games are even with 3rd base in the Terrace Box. I understand that doing the fan's choice would make your seats different each game... but it's hard to believe they couldn't get us closer to home plate at least half of the time. Ah well.

One things to understand is that there selling more tickets packages then ever. The fans choice (pic you own games) make your seats the lowest priority. You seats are selected after all the other packages that are set packages for specific games.

my ticket package (20-pack) was changed to fan choice last year after my mother- and sister-in-law were having trouble getting to some of the Friday games and/or selling other games they couldn't get to. So instead of having really good seats in Terrace Box 421 like they did for the first 10 years they moved all over the place in the Terrace Boxes and will likely have even worse seats this year.

At least their playoff seats were comparable to the old seats.

Yeah, I suppose all it takes is for enough people to either "upgrade" to a preset package or buy in for the first time. It seems like a longtime fan's choice customer should get some cred vs. a brand new preset customer, but I don't think that's the Brewers' formula.

Well when you think about it if you have full season, half season with set seats and then you have 4 20 packs that have a set games, but then you have these other 20 packs which are choose your own games which could be any 20 games out of the whole season. It must be very hard to do. So while you get the flexibility of choosing you games the trade off is the seats may not be as good.

My tickets were waiting for me in the mail this afternoon when I got back from the Angels/Brewers game! Me being a first time season ticket holder it almost felt like Christmas morning opening up the package. That being said I did the Fans Choice package due to living in Phoenix and the need to group games together to make travel easier. I went with the Loge Outfield Box for my seats and it looks like im mostly in sections 208 and 209. Im ready to get this season going!!!

The mailman rang the doorbell right after the Gamel double today.
