Just saw the video. I'm guessing that the ball was hit so hard, the other two guys probably had time to take just a step towards center before the ball was past Gomez. You can see that Aoki got to the ball about when Gomez did.

Well, see, for Aoki I was thinking of using the Japanese characters since I have visual samples from the calligraphy lineup cards. What I find compelling about a Villa to Maldo switch is I don't think Maldonado shirseys are being sold. I have seen Aoki shirseys in the team store.

 

For these 'conversions' I wasn't going to be super fancy, just cover up the previous player's name and fill in new letters/characters. I wasn't going to try to make them in the Times New Roman font or anything. It'd just be nice to find a new use for two old shirts.

 

Last Sunday, John Steinmiller of the Brewers tweeted a picture he took of me in my Stetter shirsey ($5 clubhouse sale special from last winter), and I'll still be sitting in front of the press box this Sunday. So a photo is not impossible.
