2012-07-29 Nationals (Gonzalez) at Brewers (Rogers), 1:10 PM CDT [Brewers lose, 11-10, 11 innings. Yes, it was the bullpen]

I'm so glad we are getting to see guys like Rogers, Henderson and Fiers pitch.

I'd much rather take my chances on guys like Rogers then paying 8 million dollars a year on guys like Randy Wolf and Suppan.

If Rogers throws strikes he can help us....no doubt in my mind.

Rogers is getting an unbelievable amount of swing/misses on his fastball.

It's just what he does. Seriously.

I understand why people are skeptical of prospects in general, & Mark specifically, but this guy is as legit a talent as you can get.

I'm sold. I hope he gets a few more starts. I'd like to see him and Thornburg in the rotation, but that doesn't work with Wolf hanging around still. This would be a fun rotation until Marcum is available:

Gallardo

Estrada

Fiers

Rogers

Thornburg

Livan Hernandez doing his best job to get the Nats back in the game.

Don't worry, K-Rod's warming up!

Weeks looks so much better at the plate now....not diving over the plate nearly as much...going up the middle and to the opposite field more often.....great to see.

Don't look now but Weeks' OPS is almost at .700. Considering it was at .609 a month ago and .584 a month and a half ago, that's pretty impressive.

I've said it before, but I really appreciate that this team still plays hard, despite the lack of success this year.

K-Rod putting the nails in the coffin (or maybe he's throwing more dirt on the grave!) of any last minute possibilities of trading him

^ That's Rickie Weeks. Glad to have him back.

DFA K-Rod.

I suggested that after the Philly disaster and no one agreed with me. There is absolutely no reason to keep him around. Subjecting K Rod to a full house of paying fans is ludicrous.
