I'm not sure where to put this, but just because its relevant to today's broader MLB games:

The St. Louis Cardinals pitchers retired 40 hitters in a row over the last two days. Helton just walked to end the streak. I hate the Cardinals, but man that's impressive.

Go Brewers!

Edit: Mark Buehrle has the individual record with 45 hitters in a row retired. I can't find the team record.

That is good, but Brewers pitchers only gave up 41 hits to the Rockies in our 3 game series with them.

I've never been a fan of the way Lucroy calls the game. Defensively the team could do a whole lot better than Lucroy. I think Maldonado is much better defensively. Lucroy contributes to the high pitch counts and HR numbers with bad calls.

Horrible, horrible throw by Braun in both decision and execution. By the end of the day I will have turned off more Brewer games this season than I havr in the past several seasons combined.

He's got some redeeming values defensively, but he's not nearly as good as people seem to think he is. He's actually pretty bad at throwing out basestealers, doesn't appear to call a great game, and makes his fair share of mistakes. I've heard he good at framing pitches.

Our pitching staff is last in the league in ERA, whip, hrs allowed, and BA against......first in walks but 3rd last in ks.....

No suger coating how bad they have been and it's not like we have a bunch of proven studs who are just getting unlucky.....

Lucroy provides a good bat for his position. He's mediocre defensively. He's got a lollipop arm. He might be good at framing pitches but he's awful at calling games. Burgos doesn't have great heat. Why the hell would you call for a high fastball? Why would you call for a fastball right down the middle to Jay Bruce? Bruce only hits fastballs. Don't these guys read scouting reports?

Well no catcher in the major leagues has ever called for a belt high FB right down the middle, those are mistakes.
