RIP Chadomac

I was a big fan of the local band saltshakers and I know he posted here as "chadomac" and I am saddened to read this this evening from radiomilwaukee's facebook page:

We are heartbroken to learn of Chad's passing. Such a good human being and a very sad loss for Milwaukee. Go bust out some Saltshakers tonight.

Chad Michael Curtis passed away unexpectedly on March 13th, 2015 at the age of 34. Chad, loving husband to Stephanie Blair Curtis, beloved son of Tom and Deb Curtis, cherished brother of Jen (Bryan) Schnettler, fearless leader of Milwaukee's Saltshakers band and devoted friend to one and all, will be greatly missed by numerous friends, extended family and coworkers.

Open visitation will be held on Wednesday, March 25, 2015 at the funeral home from3PM until 7PM. A short service will begin at 7PM. In lieu of flowers, donations made to the Brewers Community Foundation or the Wisconsin Humane Society would be deeply appreciated.

Wow, I dunno that I ever remember the passing of one of our own regulars. Any cause of death? 35 is too soon. My thoughts are with the loved ones he leaves behind.

Oh, man, that's terrible. I just did a search for his most recent posts and in one earlier this month, Chad mentioned that he and his wife had just bought a house up the hill from MP. Geez.

I appreciate that the obituary suggests donations to the BCF.

Remember: the Brewers never panic like you do.

Very sad. Very young.

My prayers go out to his family.

And I also saw that note about supporting the Brewers Community Foundation. A Brewers fan in life and in death.

For those that haven't listen to his music before, here is his last single (even mentions the brewers in the song)

Big bummer. I've met him a couple times at shows but hadn't seen him in over ten years when he bought a guitar amp from me. Seemed like a stand out dude and loved talking Brewers.

This is very sad. Chad was a valuable contributor to this board and will certainly be missed here at Brewerfan. I'm sure the same will be felt by those who are part of the Milwaukee music scene. My condolences to his friends and family.

That’s the only thing Chicago’s good for: to tell people where Wisconsin is.

Would anyone be interested in making a contribution in Chad's name to the Brewers Community Foundation? We could "pass the hat" on BF.net, and send the contribution to Chad's family with a sympathy card from the board. Thoughts?

That is very sad news. If there is a way to collect contributions on this board please let us know.

edit: didn't see patrickpge's post (didn't go to the 2nd page).

The moderators communicated briefly about donations. We don't currently have an easy means to be able to collect money. Our thought was that if members wanted to make individual donations and identify themselves with Brewerfan, they could mention the site in the space provided to leave a note.

Wow, that's shocking. I guess if you hang around a board long enough something like this is bound to happen but there's no way you're prepared for it. My thoughts are with his family. He seemed like a great guy.
