Rule 5 Prep

[yoshii8]

Another Rule 5 draft preview, this time from MLB Pipeline's Jonathan Mayo.

Nellie Rodriguez would be an interesting platoon-mate for Thames, especially if rosters expand to 26.

If Lewis Thorpe is (finally) healthy, he could be an interesting arm to nab.

If Jairo Beras is available, I would take a shot at him and make him our 5th OF. He seems like he has big upside.

I'm not saying it is a good option, and a lefty is probably more likely, but it would be vaguely amusing if they picked Dylan Covey.

A number of people on this board wanted Pedro Payano from the Rangers to be the PTBNL in the Lucroy trade who's available in the draft now. Seems like he'd be a similar pickup to Miguel Diaz. Not overpowering but knows how to pitch with good control.

I'm in favor of us picking Miguel Diaz in the draft. He shouldn't have been left unprotected imo.

Since 3B is still a position of need in the organization maybe take a chance with Eric Wood. Good on base skills and finally showed some power last year and in the AFL. Already mentioned but I like Weiss as well, maybe Tyler Webb sticking as a loogy.
