This didn't age well 🙂

In fairness, it likely aged better than my pre-season excitement for the Timber Rattlers pitching staff.🫣

30 years ago tomorrow, Claude Lemieux intentionally drilled Kris Draper into the boards from behind, causing severe injuries that required reconstructive facial surgery.  Lemieux was only suspended 2 games, and played in the Stanley Cup Finals with the Colorado Avalanche, who won the Stanley Cup.

Today, Claude Lemieux died by apparent suicide at age 60.

CTE no doubt.

Tkachuk bros united in Florida?

San Jose now has 2 and 9 with Eklund headed to Ottawa? (Love this for SJ - they can focus on BPA #2 and take whatever D-Man falls to 9)

Heck of a week in the NHL!

NHL looking to expand again and no Milwaukee is not an option.  Current cities are Austin or Houston as an option.

My Guy Ivar headed to San Jose baby. He is going to be SO good. This makes me SO happy to see my little Shvedskiy heading to play with Macklin. I was hoping Daxon would fall to them but, alas, they will get their D-Man at 9.

Tonight was a great night for me. Brewers beat the Cubs and my Sharks had what I think was a fantastic draft.

Yup. Really fantastic stuff. They have the early ingredients of being must watch for some time. It cost Eklund BUT the trade was made from a position of depth and strength. They desperately needed a Blue Chip D-Man. Now they have 2-of-3 of the highest ranked righty D-Men after the 1st Rd? Verhoeff and Lin is no joke.

My Sharks just drafted a 7'1 280lb dude in the 7th round. Don't think I'll ever be more invested in a 7th round pick than I am with this guy.

And the Ducks will still clobber them next season.

I mean probably they are like 3 years ahead of the Sharks rebuild so they will have to enjoy it while it lasts

Indeed. AND I think anyone with eyes can see: Macklin is a Superstar. This Draft was SO massive to get some Blue Chippers - esp. The righty D Men - in the fold and on His timeline. You know how I feel about Ivar. Wild are very much my Primary Team - I lived in St. Paul during their inception and first decade. Sharks are easily my #2. They play such a fun style of hockey. I find myself always gravitating to watch their games.
